The Administration Numérique pour les Etrangers en France is an online platform that has been changing the way expats handle their residency paperwork in France.

Designed to reduce the load on Prefecture offices, ANEF has been around for a while, offering a convenient way to handle your administrative tasks without the hassle of long queues and paperwork.

For example, on this platform, you can:
✅ Validate long-stay visas (VLS-TS),
✅ Submit initial or renewal applications for certain carte de séjour (talent passport, visitor, EU family member, etc.),
✅ Request work permits,
✅ Apply for French nationality,
✅ Report changes in your situation (address, civil status, and family situation),
✅ Apply for or renew a travel document for foreign minors (DCEM).

According to statements made by the French Minister of Transport, Clément Beaune, the implementation of mandatory MOTs will be gradual, based on the age of the vehicles. The oldest vehicles will be the first to undergo inspections, starting in early 2024.

This new regulation will apply to all two-wheeled vehicles, including those with an engine capacity below 125 cm3. However, the government has excluded sport motorcycles, as they are not intended for use on public roads.

He also revealed that discussions are currently underway with technical inspection centers to reduce the cost as much as possible. He estimates the cost to be approximately fifty euros.

He stated, "For those who own older two-wheeled vehicles, starting from early 2024, there will be assistance of up to 6,000 euros available to transition to an electric or environmentally friendly vehicle." This incentive aims to support both ecological transition and purchasing power.
