One of the best things about being a surveyor is seeing hidden gems like this, things that you never even knew existed.

​I spent the day undertaking a topographical survey at this stunning historic church. It’s a great reminder that before any major renovation project begins, we have to truly understand the ground we’re standing on.

​This is one project we will definitely have to go back and visit when it has been restored to its former glory.

We've recently completed this comprehensive survey project, delivering a detailed topographical and measured building survey (including accurate loft plans) and all ahead of schedule.

​By using the right tools for the job, we ensured both speed and high level accuracy:
• ​Topographical Survey: Urdertaken using the Trimble S6 Total Station.
• ​Measured Building Survey: Captured with the Trimble X7 Laser Scanner.

​There’s a unique satisfaction in seeing all the data come together into a seamless result for a happy client.

Solo surveying can get pretty quiet, but today I had some company. I’m always a little skeptical about setting up a total station in a field with horses as you never know if they are about to treat your tripod like a scratching post.

Safe to say, this one was more interested in following me than knocking the instrument over.

Site work is never glamorous. However, It’s days like these that make being out in the field worth it.
