AAFA Division 3 Result
Meldrum United 2-1 Burghmuir
M.Cheyne, Talbot (Clark) , Gee, C.Cheyne, Copland, Pugh (Allsop) Kennedy, Watson, Stewart (Begg), K.Smith (Faskin) , Battensby
A much stronger squad than the opening day as we welcomed many boys back & had 18 avaialble. Gee & K.Smith return from suspension. C.Cheyne comes back in while Battensby makes his competitive debut from the start.
On a sweltering day both teams really struggled to have big chances in quite a poor first half. HT 0-0
Second half Burghmuir took the lead on 53 minutes as a quick counter attack from a corner found the bottom corner. C. Cheyne would hit the bar with a header. After the water break and change of shape we took over the game and stopped arguing with each other eventually. On 73 minutes Watson swung in a free kick on the money for C. Cheyne whos header cannoned in off the post. 5 minutes later a great move Copland found Battensby who laid off first time to Faskin who smashed home a stunning strike giving the Burgh number 1 no chance. We seen the game out well for a derby day victory.

A first 3 points of the season. We made extremely hard work of that, a good sign to win playing poor but will need to improve with our football and attitude for Monday night as we travel into heathryfold to play Northstar.
