The meadow having its water mint and sneezewort moment.

With yarrow, blue butterflies and just a smidgen of devil's bit scabious.

The middle of the meadow is wet so has remained much greener than others in the valley where the only green is the bracken. We won't be draining it. Wet grassland is such an important, and declining, habitat.

Today in the Potager.

Weeds.

Wild angelica, hogweed and great willowherb.

And buckler leaf sorrel being, well, leafy in the shade of the Taunton Deane perennial kale.

Note for the faint of heart...we have been carrying out our annual 'off with their heads ' exercise with the hogweed. Much as we and the pollinators love it, a bit of annual editing is definitely required.

Please note that the garden is now closed for 2026 for visitors of the two-legged kind. Always open for pollinators.

In this Workshop we will be thinking of gardening as a process of repairing the
separation from nature that we tell ourselves.

Seeing gardens as spaces to share abundance with ‘wild’ shifts gardening from the traditional set of ‘to do’ lists and control to careful interventions that aim to grow alongside local ecologies.

Jo and Sue will dig into what this way of working looks like as an everyday practice and a mindset.
