Does setting your air conditioning to 16°C cool the room faster?
No — and it’s one of the most common air conditioning myths.
Setting your system to 16°C doesn’t usually make it cool the room any faster than setting it to 22°C. It simply tells the unit to keep working until it reaches that much lower temperature.
For most homes and workplaces, a setting of around 21°C to 24°C is a much more sensible starting point.
You’ll still feel the benefit, without asking the system to work unnecessarily hard.
