Congratulations to Gemma & Natasha and the team at the Hair Duo https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100031027192367. They have taken over 18 Alexander St, with their business.
Officially opened on Saturday. They are very enthusiastic about what they do and have a wealth of experience in Hairdressing. It’s great to see the salon bustling once again.

New-build homeowners with Ideal boilers. Here we have an example of an Ideal boiler that’s only 4 years old. The boiler had never been serviced. As you can see there significant build up within the combustion chamber. We carried out a full strip down service, resulting in better performance, potentially saving the burner from cracking and producing dangerous gasses. If you have never had your boiler serviced to get in touch and arrange a proper service.

A slightly different post for a change.

Our hairdressing salon will be available to to lease come January 2024.

The premises is a well known established salon within Airdrie. It has been successfully trading as a hairdressing salon for over 40 years. The property is in a prime location on Alexander St with large passing trade.
The immediate area consists of a tattoo parlour, alteration shop, petrol station, car wash, pub, and a restaurant. There are no shops laying empty which shows the strength of the area for businesses.

The salon is ready for business with no converting required. The total area is roughly 495sq feet. It currently has a reception area, 8 booths, 2 washing stations, a kitchen/staff room, WC and a storage area. It has gas central heating with an excellent hot water system. There is also access to a drying green at the rear.

The salon would suit individuals currently trading or looking to start their own business and rebrand the salon to suit, whether it be by direct management or through chair rental.

If the UKs largest boiler supplier is going to struggle with the proposed ‘boiler tax’ from the government then other manufacturers won’t stand a chance of meeting the targets either. Unfortunately if this legislation comes in (which it will) the people it will affect is the homeowner. The purchase cost of boilers will increase significantly. If you are thinking of replacing your current boiler in the next year or two, it may be wise to do it before these measures are implemented.

It has been a good number of months since our last post. So here is a little update on what we have been doing. Firstly a new website is now live check it out at www.fraserallanplumbing.co.uk
We have been busy carrying out full central heating installations, boiler servicing, boiler installations, repairs, bathroom installations and general plumbing work. One of our favourites of the year so far is this wonderful wet-room from a few months ago. The quality of finish is outstanding from all the trades involved. Check it out below.

🥶🥶Oh the weather outside is frightful, dum de dum de dum dum.🥶🥶
Over the last week or so the calls have been flooding in with regards to boilers not working. 90% of the time this is due to a frozen condensate pipe. Although thawing them out is fairly easy, with such cold weather they will probably freeze again within a few days. Insulating them often only buys you time, eventually they will freeze in such weather.
We offer a service where we can keep condensate pipes from freezing which involves wrapping the pipe with a cable that will heat the pipe just enough to prevent it from freezing. This cable has a thermostat on it and will only heat the pipe when the weather drops below 3 degrees.

This is a post that i have been trying to hold off from putting out there for a while.

Over the years we have built up a fantastic relationship with our customers and we are always very grateful for the work and repeat business that we receive.

However, please be aware that outside of working hours, trades such as myself, joiners, tilers, electricians, hairdressers etc do have lives and families.

If you have a genuine emergency such as water flooding from a burst pipe, a smell of gas, the only toilet in your house is blocked etc. Then please do call even if its out of working hours, and if available the call will be answered.

In recent times we have had phone calls at ridiculous hours for general work that would not be classed as an emergency. Here are just a few examples from the last couple of weeks. I have had calls at 11.45pm , 8am on a Sunday, 10.30pm on a Friday.
I am always happy to liaise with customers by text if thats your preference. Again please think about the time a text is being sent, 1am is not a great time to send a text. I try not put my phone on silent at anytime incase there is a genuine emergency or indeed elderly family members or neighbours need to call.

Generally speaking good times to call or text are from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. If i am under a floor or holding a boiler i may not be able to reach my phone, so please do leave a voicemail and i will return the call when my hands are free.
