After the driest July on record and months of drought, this bank holiday weekend's forecast is thunderstorms and heavy rain. Good news for reservoirs, but ground that's been baked hard for weeks doesn't just soak that up. Expect gullies working overtime, and any weak point in your drainage to show itself fast.
