Another big project completed in Basingstoke — and this time, we’ve saved the roof and given it a whole new lease of life!

We removed the old spray foam insulation and got it straight in the skip, before carrying out a complete roof refurbishment.

🚨 FLEET PROJECT UPDATE – BFR ROOFING 🚨

This project is flying! 👊🔥

A massive well done to the lads who have been grafting through some unbearable conditions — the progress has been unreal!

🏠 Extension roof: We’ve hand-cut and constructed the new roof, with all timber works completed, then fully felted and battened ready for the final roofing finish.

🏠 Main roof: Fully stripped, new felt and battens installed, and tiled.

🔨 Roofline: All plastics are now on, with the guttering left to finish.

🏗️ Large flat roof: Next up, we’ll be decking the flat roof and installing a full EPDM rubber roofing system, complete with 2 x 2m x 1m roof lights.

☀️ And it doesn’t stop there… 38 solar panels are going onto this roof, with the flat roof system forming part of a complete setup designed to take this property off-grid.

We’ve really given this property the full BFR treatment, working alongside Building Control to ensure everything is completed correctly and signed off for our customers. ✅

🏠 ANOTHER JOB COMPLETED BY BFR ROOFING! 🔨

Our Wi******er project is now complete! This was a relatively straightforward up-and-over roof, but unfortunately the roof had to be replaced due to poor airflow and ventilation, which had resulted in condensation and caused problems within the roof structure.

We were more than happy to help strip and re-slate the roof and, most importantly, install the correct ventilation system to help prevent the same issues happening again. 👌

The works included:

Another fantastic project well underway in Epsom, and this property is getting the full works!

This roof has been completely transformed with:
✅ Removal of the old failing concrete gutters
✅ Brand new roof with large concrete tiles
✅ New breathable felt membrane
✅ Treated timber battens
✅ 125mm Celotex warm roof insulation installed between the rafters

🚨 Another roof saved before it became a much bigger problem! 🚨

We started this project in Wi******er on Monday, and we’re already nearly finished! 💪

This was a straightforward strip and re-slate, but once we lifted the roof, we found exactly why it had failed… and it’s a lesson every homeowner should know.

🏠 The roof is only around 15 years old.
❌ The problem wasn’t the slates.
❌ It wasn’t storm damage.
⚠️ It was poor ventilation.

With no airflow installed when the roof was originally built, condensation became trapped inside the roof space. Over the years, this led to mould, rotten battens, and a roof that needed replacing far sooner than it should have.

On this project we’re:
✅ Reusing the existing slates
✅ Installing new breathable felt
✅ Replacing all battens
✅ Renewing all the leadwork
✅ Installing the correct ventilation to ensure the roof performs as it should for years to come.

This is exactly why cutting corners during installation can end up costing thousands later.

🦇🏗️ 65,000 roof tiles… bats… and the British weather! Just another week for the BFR Roofing team! 💪🔥

We’ve just started another massive project in Farnborough, and this one is unlike anything we usually take on!

Working alongside a developer and specialist bat ecologists, we’re carefully dismantling this roof one tile at a time, removing every tile, felt, batten and rafter while making sure disturbance to the protected bat population is kept to an absolute minimum.

With over 65,000 tiles to come off, this is a huge operation, and the weather certainly isn’t making life easy—but our team never backs down from a challenge. 👊

It’s projects like these that remind us why no two jobs are ever the same. From straightforward roof repairs to complex, conservation-led developments, BFR Roofing has the experience, equipment and team to get the job done properly.

What started as a tired, ageing property in Farnborough has been completely transformed, and we couldn’t be prouder of the end result! 🏡👏

This wasn’t just a new roof – this was a full exterior makeover.

✔️ Brand new roof
✔️ Over 50% of the original handmade clay tiles replaced with carefully sourced reclaimed tiles for a perfect match
✔️ New black woodgrain uPVC fascias, soffits, deep-flow guttering and downpipes
