The Argyle Passivhaus is available with the choice of a vaulted or flat internal ceiling — a considered architectural detail that changes the character of the home.

The vaulted ceiling creates a soft, contemporary farmhouse feel. Added ceiling height brings volume and openness, allowing natural light to flow through the living and dining spaces.

The 2.5m flat ceiling offers a more intimate setting, complemented by deep-set windows and considered proportions. A fixed divider can also be introduced to subtly define the spaces.

One thing people are most surprised by in a Passivhaus is how it feels in summer.

In a standard home, heat tends to build throughout the day. The sun pours through windows, upstairs rooms become stuffy, surfaces absorb warmth and by evening the whole house can feel overheated.

A Passivhaus feels different because it's designed differently.

The triple glazing, generous insulation, airtightness, window placement, shading and ventilation all work together to slow heat gain. Rather than dealing with overheating after it happens, Passivhaus is designed to prevent it wherever possible.

Even on hot days, indoor temperatures remain stable and comfortable.
