Another Coldwells Build Passivhaus approved, this time in Aberfeldy, Perthshire. Both planning permission and building warrant granted.

Our "Archer" design has found its home on a private woodland plot, and our clients are now on their way to a certified Passivhaus.

Their home is being delivered through our full turnkey service, with work starting within the month.

The Archer is the newest addition to our Passivhaus range – a [x3] bedroom bungalow with 132m² of living space.

Deep window reveals and generous glazing bring natural light into the kitchen, living and dining area. With a choice of vaulted or flat ceiling, this space can remain fully open-plan or be adapted for a more defined floorplan.

Each double bedroom includes built-in wardrobes, plus a private ensuite to the master, modern kitchen with built-in appliances, family bathroom, utility room and a silent ventilation system.

At our Monymusk steading conversion, an original wall featuring three wide arches had begun to lean, so it was carefully taken down and rebuilt using the existing granite.

Our stonemasons cut and dressed each stone to reconstruct the archways, shaping them around a timber former to recreate the original curves and proportions. Meanwhile, dormer roofs prefabricated in our workshop have been craned into position.

Our latest Passivhaus design, the Archer, is available with the choice of a vaulted or flat internal ceiling – a simple architectural decision that completely shifts the feeling of the home.

At 5.3m, the vaulted option creates volume and openness, drawing light through the living and dining spaces and introducing a softer, contemporary farmhouse character.

The 2.5m flat ceiling, paired with the same deep-set windows, is more intimate, allowing the same spaces to be subtly defined with an optional fixed divider solution.
