A LITTLE WELL-EARNED FAMILY TIME! ❤️

After keeping things flowing and being on the go, it’s finally time for me to take a well-earned bit of family time.

📅 Birchwood will be taking a short break from Monday 31st August until Monday 7th September.

But don’t worry… the phone will still be on! 📞

For anyone unfortunate enough to suffer a blocked drain while I’m off, I’ve got a great, trusted company stepping in to keep things flowing and take care of those emergency blockages. 🚽💦

I’ll still be keeping an eye on things where needed, but most importantly, I’m going to enjoy some quality time with the family. ❤️

QUIET ON SOCIAL MEDIA DOESN’T MEAN QUIET ON THE JOB! 👷‍♂️🔧

Things might have been a little quieter than normal on the Birchwood Property & Landscaping Services side this year, and honestly, that’s been a big help with my family circumstances. ❤️

But while the property and landscaping work has eased off a little, Birchwood Drain Specialists has been absolutely flat out! 🚽💦

From drain blockages, high-pressure jetting and drain repairs to CCTV drain surveys and investigations, there’s been plenty keeping us busy behind the scenes.

One of the great things about covering such a wide variation of work is that it’s never really quiet at Birchwood — there’s always something that needs sorting! 💪

Finally got this one wrapped up! 👌

It dragged on a little longer than expected due to the weather being far too hot! ☀️🥵

Single-storey extension repointed using a lime, cement and sand mix to help the wall breathe and allow the existing masonry to move naturally.

The joints were raked out to around 25mm, then the pointing gun was used to get the new mortar in quickly and efficiently. We then trowelled over the joints to make sure everything was fully compacted before finishing off with a brush-back finish for a clean, traditional look. 👌

Well… after a few weeks playing in the 💩 on the drainage side of things 🌧️💪 I've swapped the 💩 for dust and headed back onto the property jobs 🤦‍♂️

Today’s little beauty: grinding out prepping ready for repointing a single-storey stone side extension. Nothing like spending the day covered head to toe in dust to remind you how glamorous the building game really is 😂🪨

The neighbours probably think differently!🤣🤦

Plenty of graft ahead, plenty of dust in places dust shouldn’t be… but it’s all part of the job. Let’s see this come back to life 🔨💪

Quiet on here doesn't mean quiet at work. It just means one business is stealing all my time while the other waits patiently! 😆
🚧 Another drainage repair completed! 🚧

Called out to replace a damaged drain inspection point after broken pipework was allowing waste to leak into the ground and underneath the house.

Definitely not the easiest job, with the old clay pipe concreted over and running beneath the property. These are the jobs where experience really counts. We carefully excavated the area and managed to achieve a solid, reliable connection without causing unnecessary damage.

The work included:
✅ Replacing the damaged inspection chamber
✅ Installing new underground pipework
✅ Replacing approximately 1 metre of soil stack
✅ Fitting new boss straps
✅ Fully testing the system

No more leaks, everything is flowing exactly as it should, and another happy customer.
