Skilled Carpenter / Builder.

Job description:

We are looking to appoint a Carpenter / Builder with immediate start who has experienced knowledge of understanding building site processes from foundation to roof, stud work to plastering

Role:

Actively performing day to day carpentry / joinery and building duties on site, with a hands on working ethic alongside other team members
Take on multiple tasks required to achieve and exceed delivery requirements
Ensure all tasks are carried out are within the required professional standard and in line with the drawings and technical information provided
Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have experience in using own hand tools within all aspects of carpentry / joinery and building
Good knowledge of working on building sites
Ability to read and understand architectural plans / drawings
Demonstrates good judgement in decision making.
Organised and ability to prioritise tasks and has good overall time management skills.
Uses initiative and can solve problems independently.
Flexible work ethic
Full, clean driving licence
Own Vehicle

We may have been rather quiet on here recently, but don't let that fool you...we have had a very busy start to the year! 📨🤝💼👷🛠💪

Last week we popped back to look at some new work required at a local property, where we did a landscaping renovation towards the end of last year.

The property used to be two separate houses, (hence the two gates) but was knocked through to make one larger house, leaving the owners in great need of a driveway out the front.

There was a lot of work involved from site clearance to adjusting levels and the various trades required on site. However we managed to get the job pushed through at a good pace, despite the weather and it was finished just in time to enjoy for Christmas ✨️

GENERAL LABOURER:
Job description:
We are looking to appoint a reliable general labourer to assist our tradespeople and support daily site operations. Duties include site preparation and clean up, material handling, basic construction tasks and anything the tradespeople request to maintain a safe working environment. The ideal candidate must be physically fit, safety conscious, punctual and able to follow instructions, as well as operate basic hand tools.

FRIDAY MOTIVATION 🪵✨

Proof that “one day we’ll do something with this bit” can turn into this 👇

Brief was simple:
Raise the veranda, build an oak-framed roof and create a proper outdoor dining space.

Reality? A full-on outdoor room – oak beams, skylights, brickwork, the works. Morning coffee spot, long lazy suppers, kids’ birthdays, Christmas mulled wine… all sorted, all year round.

If you’ve got a tired patio or an unused patch outside the back door, this is your sign: next summer’s best seat in the house gets built now.

Built, designed and finished by the Silk Services team – very proud of this one.
