Worcester Cdi system boiler was firing up but not moving any of the heat past the boiler. Checked the pump and as I suspected it wasn’t spinning, ordered a new pump and due to a parts upgrade I had to change the PCB as well. Switched it all back on and everything back to working how it should.

Ideal logic showing FD fault no water flow; checked the pump was running, checked the system had water and tested the PCB. After performing these tests it indicated a faulty flow switch, once I replaced this the boiler was back up and running and another satisfied customer.

🔧Vaillant F29 fault code🔍. This fault code indicates a flame loss failure during operation, often linked to issues with the gas valve or ignition sequence. Replaced the faulty gas valve and got the boiler back up and running 🔥. Another happy customer with heating and hot water

Installed a Salus wireless pump overrun receiver today to overcome a cable limitation on site.

A hard-wired link between the boiler and pump wasn’t feasible due to inaccessible routes, so the wireless module provided a clean workaround. The receiver handles the post burner run-on period reliably, ensuring proper heat dissipation and protecting the system without needing to run new cable.

Solid signal, straightforward integration and a tidy solution for retrofit scenarios where wiring isn’t practical.

🔧Vaillant ecoFIT - inner flue seal replacement

Today’s job: replacing a perished inner flue seal on a vaillant EcoFIT. A deteriorated seal can lead to flue gas circulation, poor combustion readings and in worst cases, unsafe operation - so this is a critical maintenance step.

🛠️What I checked
1. Visual inspection of the inner and outer flue seals
2. Condition of flue joints and locking bands
3. Evidence of condensate leakage around cover plate

🔄 Replacement Process

1. Isolate and drain down the system
2. Remove electrical connections to boiler
3. Perform tightness test before disconnecting gas supply to appliance
4. Disconnect flue elbow from turret and remove boiler
5. Fit new vaillant approved seals
6. Reassemble and reinstate and test all disturbed connections.
7. Perform combustion analysis.

No leakage at test points

🛠️Failed expansion vessel on Vaillant Turbomax

Came to a failed expansion vessel on an old turbomax, didn’t want to disturb all those old joints so just connected an external expansion vessel on the return into the boiler.
