Low-quality existing concrete. Multiple retaining systems that needed to act as one. Close proximity to neighbours and a heavily trafficked road.
These were the challenges our Temporary Works team faced at 33 Piccadilly.📍
We were engaged with Kier and Realtime Civil Engineering early, at the pre-construction stage.
This enabled our teams to work in close collaboration with the contractors to develop a five-level temporary propping scheme to stabilise a complex mix of existing basement walls, new underpinning structures, and sheet pile retaining systems.
All within a very tight urban footprint and keeping to their sustainability goals.
See how early engagement and the right temporary works design made the difference on this iconic project in the heart of the West End, London. 👇
