It's been a rather busy week installing 3 CCTV systems and 4 burglar alarms in addition to our electrical works.

All our supplied systems are Hikvision, mainly ColorVu which provides full colour images in the dead of night instead of your typical black and white night vision. All images can be viewed remotely on your phone or tablet.

All of our intruder alarms are Grade 2 insurance approved and connect to an app on your phone giving you full control and alert you to an alarm activation.

Call out to a 7 year old new build home for a partial loss of power in the small hours this morning.
RCD not fitted correctly 7 years ago and has finally failed. Not what this customer wanted a week before Christmas.
Temporary RCD, New MCB and a new Busbar fitted restoring full power and lighting.
Returning later to change the temporary RCD to a Hagar (the brand originally fitted).

For the curious out there, the busbar had not been inserted inside the terminal clamp of the L conductor of the RCD. I suspect the installer had simply not unscrewed the terminal causing the busbar to sit behind the clamp which over time generated heat from the electricity arcing over which ultimately caused the premature failure of the RCD.

Call out attended last night in Preston to restore power after a boiler in an unusual location had leaked onto a plug socket causing the old fuse box to blow. After a bit of a struggle in the tight gap we managed to change both the socket and plug as well as replacing the fuse in the fuse box restoring power to the circuit and getting the boiler working again.
