Scotland won last night, so I’m running on very little sleep today.

But the work still gets done.

Same with 3D visuals — you don’t need everything perfect before you start.

A sketch, a photo, a few measurements, or even a rough WhatsApp idea can be enough to begin turning the project into something you can actually see.

The clarity usually comes once the idea is built visually.

FAQ: What do I need to send you to get started?

Simple answer — send me what you’ve got.

Drawings, sketches, photos, rough measurements, estate agent plans, WhatsApp images… anything that helps explain the idea.

From there, I can start turning it into a 3D model, render or animation so you can see the project properly before it’s built.

You don’t need everything perfect before you ask.

That’s the whole point — take the idea and make it clearer.

Can a WhatsApp sketch become a 3D model?

Yes — if there’s enough information to understand the space.

A recent enquiry came through after someone saw my work on Instagram. No meeting, no phone call, just a few images and messages through WhatsApp.

From there, I can start building the idea in SketchUp and turn it into something much easier to understand.

A sketch is a good starting point.
A 3D model helps you see what it could actually become.

That’s where 3D visuals really help — before money is spent on builders, materials or changes on site.

A 3D model is brilliant…

but only if it’s built with construction knowledge behind it.

Otherwise, it can just be a nice visual.

I’ve spent 40 years on building sites, so when I model something, I’m not just thinking, “Does it look good?”

I’m thinking:

Can it be built?
Does it work?
Will that fit?
Are there any clashes?
Will it cause problems on site?

That’s where 3D really becomes useful.

Not just pretty pictures.

A model you can actually make decisions from.
