This is the reason you need to make sure you contain bamboo. Rhizomes can pierce through asphalt, tear up paved areas, and infiltrate drains. While they rarely damage sound concrete, they exploit existing cracks in structures.
These are the rhizomes pulled out from under the lawn and under patio today. Cutting the canes does not stop them, the rhizomes must be fully excavated.
New fabric root barrier and concrete barrier to be installed soon

EMERGENCY CALLOUT
After a day of technical dismantling over a building and removal of hung up limbs for the mighty Atlas garden services. I thought it was going to be easy an Friday.
Apparently not, haha
2 hr journey to remove this large hung up tree resting up against a block of flats.
Severing the final limb against the building and the instant couple of feet drop was an interesting few seconds.😬

Atlas reduction, thin and deadwood. Please don't let people cut the tops off your trees!. Just because it looks smaller doesn't mean it's safe. Also, it is very hard to get back them back to looking good.
