From just an idea to the completed dream outdoor space for our clients 💚 This wildlife-friendly garden in Boxgrove centres round a modern linear pond that connects with the modern architecture of the house’s extension. Step stones on either side of the pond take you through to meandering paths of ancient Horsham stone that wind round beds full of trees, ornamentals and edibles. Every time the team from visit they’re greeted by happy bees, frogs, dragonflies, fish, birds, butterflies and insects galore. Mark designed this garden with the clients’ passion for wildlife in mind, the beached pond stretches along the back deck out of the house with thick planting for habitat-making. Step stones over the water lead to winding paths round edible and ornamental planting leading to hidden seating areas and compost bays.

Summer borders in this Arundel garden 🪴 these borders are a sea of purples, whites and greens during the summer months, with plants such as hydrangeas, verbena, Geranium ‘Rozanne’ and Alchemilla mollis carrying the colour scheme throughout the garden. Clipped Lonicera nitida provides form and structure, while Hakonechloa macra adds soft texture and movement, creating contrast and interest throughout the planting.

Views of the water 🩵 there’s something about water that draws us all to it, especially in heatwaves like these. This Arundel garden design features an organic-shaped pond that sits in the heart of the courtyard surrounded by the main living spaces of the property.

A jungle sauna experience in…Arundel?! This incredible garden sauna, known affectionately as ‘The Spaceship’ was installed in our client’s exotic back garden amongst dense foliage, creating an escapist experience that’s good for body and the soul. Take a tour round this Arundel garden, designed and built by Mark Payne Landscape Design. Situated in the town centre, this beautiful home required a garden that fitted in its historical setting with a stylish modern twist. This was achieved by adding sculptural elements in the relief plaques and a ‘tree avenue’ look with clipped Mulberry parasol trees. The steep incline of the entrance plays with texture, contrasting the tightly clipped Lonicera nitida with the billowing lavender and grasses. A paved dining area sits in the heart of the garden, surrounded by Iris ‘Jane Phillips’, Hakonechloa and Agapanthus.
