Back with an existing client, extending the smart irrigation system we installed previously to cover more of the lawn and planting beds.

The existing 3,000 litre tank and smart controls give us a good base to extend the system, with the new areas designed into their own watering zones.

With the current hosepipe restrictions, the new lawn irrigation will remain off until restrictions allow it to be used. For now, we’re getting everything installed and ready.

Also looking particularly clean in the sunshine, Will’s new van with its fresh Irrigate & Thrive decals.

A little preparation before an irrigation installation can make a big difference.

Here, ducting has been installed beneath the path before we arrive. It allows us to run irrigation pipework and control cables between different areas of the garden without disturbing the finished surface.

More importantly, it means planting areas can be connected back to the smart irrigation system and divided into separate zones. Lawns, borders and different types of planting can then be watered according to their own requirements.

It is a simple bit of forward planning that helps us design the system properly around the whole garden.

Making better use of an existing water source.

An interesting part of this installation has been bringing an existing underground rainwater harvesting tank into a new, properly designed irrigation system.

We’re connecting it to additional above-ground storage, making use of the available rainwater while adding the capacity, controls and equipment needed for automated watering across the garden.

With the hot, dry weather continuing and temperatures reaching 37°C today, it’s a timely project, although certainly a tough one for the installation team.

The recent dry weather has certainly kept us busy.

This week we've been installing another smart irrigation system, with a neatly screened tank tucked away beside the garage and an automated system designed around the garden.

The ground was rock hard, so the trencher definitely earned its keep. Looking back at the early summer photos, it's easy to see why the owners wanted a more reliable way to manage watering before next season.

A big thank you to our clients for keeping the tea station stocked throughout the week. The biscuit tin even seemed to refill itself...

The difference a few months can make.

Back in May, this garden in Farnham was looking its best. Fast forward to this week's installation, and weeks of hot, dry weather have left the lawn completely sun scorched.

Installing at this time of year is always challenging. The ground was rock hard, and the long pipe run from the barn to the garden certainly kept the trencher busy. Safe to say we were grateful for the shade of the barn too, where the tank and smart controller are now neatly housed.

By planning ahead now, this garden will be ready for whatever next summer brings.

Most of the broader team has been on hand to welcome Will and add a fair amount of graft on this riverside installation as the temperatures start to soar again.

Only Wednesday, and it's already been a busy week.

We've visited 10 clients and 6 prospective clients, while the installation team has been busy with everything from a first phase at a Huf Haus, to finishing touches on a commercial project, and adding sprinklers to an extended lawn.

The sunshine keeps coming... and so do the irrigation installations!

This lawn verge needed specialist Hunter Strip Pattern nozzles, with ducting installed beneath the driveway before we arrived. A quick revisit this week and you'd never know we'd been there... apart from the healthy lawn and a happy client.
