At High Beeches, the architecture is shaped by the land beneath it.

Ascot Design developed a low, layered form that sits into the hillside, reducing its visual impact while making the most of the site’s panoramic views. Flat roof planes, controlled building heights and dramatic cantilevered terraces give the home a confident contemporary character.

Handmade Petersen brick, reclaimed dark timber and charred Shou Sugi Ban soffits bring texture, warmth and depth to the exterior, grounding the architecture within its landscape.

Introducing High Beeches, a contemporary family home in Surrey.

Designed by Ascot Design from initial concept through to completion, the project responds to an exceptional yet highly sensitive setting, within Green Belt land, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a historic Capability Brown landscape.

Partially embedded into the hillside, the home is shaped by its topography, opening out through expansive glazing, landscaped terraces and far reaching views across the Surrey countryside.

A considered architectural response, designed around landscape, light and long term family living.

We’re proud to see work now underway on the transformative mixed use development just south of Ascot High Street, adjacent to the Fire Station and close to the railway station.

Having supported the project through architectural design and CGI visualisation, it is a privilege to see the approved scheme begin to take shape on site.

Delivered in collaboration with developer London Square, the development will provide 101 new homes, including 40% affordable housing, alongside a central village green, private outdoor space for every home, 135 parking spaces and 1020m² of flexible commercial and community space.

The scheme will breathe new life into a currently underused car park, creating a vibrant, sustainable neighbourhood with a strong sense of place.

Steve Tapper, Director at Ascot Design, said:

“This is a major project for Ascot and represents a once in a lifetime opportunity to create a gateway to the High Street that reflects its Royal Ascot status. By activating spaces and encouraging movement, the scheme has the potential to support meaningful regeneration through high quality traditional design. Our client, London Square, has been fantastic throughout the process and we’re delighted to see work now beginning on site.”

Sam Francis, Ascot Design, added:

“It has been a privilege to help shape a scheme that reflects local aspirations and delivers lasting value to the community. Seeing work start on site is an exciting milestone for everyone involved.”

Ascot Design’s masterplan blends contemporary architecture with local character, promoting sustainable living and meaningful community connections.

Set within mature landscaped grounds, this residence has been designed with a quiet sense of arrival. The sweeping driveway, formal planting and carefully balanced exterior elevations all work together to frame the home with presence and purpose.

From the symmetry of the façade to the rhythm of the windows, terraces and garden walls, every detail has been considered as part of the wider architectural composition. A refined example of how landscape and architecture can come together to create a lasting first impression.

A residence defined by proportion, setting and architectural restraint. From the rhythm of the columns to the quiet formality of the landscaped approach, every detail works together to create a sense of permanence and elegance.

From carved stonework to hand finished joinery and ornate ironmongery, every element at Hills End has been considered with care. A reminder that true architectural elegance is found not only in scale, but in the precision of the smallest details.

It begins with atmosphere, proportion and a clear material direction. Sketches help define the architectural language, mood boards refine the palette, and CGI allows each detail to be explored with clarity before the space is realised.

In this concept, soft upholstery, dark timber, marble, aged brass and layered lighting work together to create a home that feels refined, welcoming and carefully balanced.

The structure of a home defines its proportion, flow and sense of arrival. Interior design then builds on that foundation, shaping how each space feels through material, light, texture and detail.

From the rhythm of a hallway to the warmth of a living space or the finish of a bar area, every decision has a role to play. Marble, timber, brass, glass, fabric and lighting are not simply decorative choices. They help define atmosphere, function and the way a space is experienced
