A look back at Dartford’s transformation.

Safer crossings. Granite paving. New planting and places to sit. 🪴🧘

Public spaces designed for everyday use.

Our £3.2 million regeneration project for Dartford Borough Council brought together improvements to the Lowfield Street/Instone Road junction and the town-centre public realm, including vehicle-access controls.

Delivered between March 2023 and April 2024, the works were carefully phased around live traffic, residents and businesses.

We’re proud of our team’s hard work and the lasting quality of the finished spaces.

A little look inside Dover Discovery Centre. 📚

From the children’s library area to a quiet chair by the bookshelves, it is lovely to see these spaces ready for everyday use again.

Our £5.3 million refurbishment for Kent County Council brought together roofing work, new building services, fresh interiors and accessibility improvements.

There was plenty happening behind the scenes as well as in the rooms you can see here.

The centre has been part of Dover since 1991. It is home to a library, nursery, community theatre, adult education and children’s services.

A building with a lot of people to look after.

A massive shoutout to Southern Construction supervisor Kenny Paton for picking up a thoroughly deserved safety award.

Kenny won this for his tireless work mentoring our apprentices and younger operatives. Instead of just ticking boxes, Kenny takes the time to make sure safe systems of work are deeply embedded in how our newest team members think and act every day.

Thank you, Kenny, for sharing your years of experience and keeping our future workforce safe.

Not all heroes wear capes. Some just answer to Tom and Liam. 🦸‍♂️

Against all physical expectations, the boys have only gone and won the Kent Construction Consultants REWD Padel tournament for Walker Construction. Easily the pinnacle of their careers.

A massive shout out to the hosts for a stellar afternoon of networking and aggressive racket swinging.

To the rival contractors we left in the dust ... thoughts, peace, and love.

We will be wearing this crown with absolutely zero humility.

What will this place mean to the people who use it when we’re no longer there?

The Walker Construction Series is our way of exploring that question. It reflects our belief that construction is never only about what gets built. It’s also about the care taken along the way, the people affected by each decision, and what a project leaves behind for its community.

Next Thursday, we’ll be taking that story to the Kent Construction EXPO.

This is our eighth year exhibiting, but we’re still approaching it as we always have: with something honest to share, people we’re looking forward to seeing, and a stand that is gradually taking shape!!!
