Fresh front garden transformation completed in Milton Keynes! 🛠️🌳

We recently upgraded a customer's old fencing and gate to give their front garden a clean, welcoming new look.

We kicked off the project using our excavator to remove 3 stubborn tree stumps. Even with a minor setback—a blown hydraulic hose—we had it repaired on-site within a couple of hours and kept the momentum going! 💪

After clearing out all the old fence posts, panels, and gate, we dug new post holes and installed a beautiful 3-foot picket fence and matching gate, quality-supplied by Chesham Fencing.

🏗️ PROJECT UPDATE: New Double Driveway Underway in Buckinghamshire! 🏡

A premium driveway is only as good as the groundwork beneath it, and the team is out in full force ensuring this new double driveway has the ultimate foundation. We don’t cut corners when it comes to prep!

Here’s a breakdown of how we're transforming this space:

🔹 Full Site Excavation: Stripping away the old, tired paving slabs and grass to start with a completely clean slate.
🔹 Geotextile Woven Membrane: Laid down to prevent shifting and guarantee long-term stability.
🔹 Heavy-Duty Sub-Base: Installing 150mm (a massive 18 tonnes!) of Type 1X MOT with reduced fines to create an incredibly strong, stable foundation.
🔹 Concrete Kerb Edgings: Fixed firmly at the front of the driveway, bedded in securely with ballast and cement.
🔹 Charcoal Block Edging: Framing the perimeter with a type1 MOT sub-base, sharp, stylish charcoal block border, bedded with sand and cement for that crisp finish.

What’s next?
We are currently installing the specialised permeable base. Once our groundwork is complete, we’ll be handing over to another fantastic local company to lay down a stunning, modern resin-bound finish! ✨

✨ PROJECT COMPLETION: Wingrave Transformation! ✨

We’ve just handed over this beautiful new patio right here in Wingrave! 🏡

The old patio had definitely seen better days. It had been down for many years, laid on a thin sand/cement mix directly onto the mud—making it prone to shifting and w**ds. We dug it all out by hand and built this one from the ground up to ensure it stands the test of time. 💪

Here’s how we did it:
🚜 Full hand excavation to clear the old site and get a perfect level and installation of Geotextile Membrane.
🪨 100mm of MOT Type 1 sub-base (sourced locally) for a rock-solid foundation.
📐 Core LP metal edging installed for perfectly crisp, durable borders.
🧱 Laid on a fresh, full sand and cement bed with an SBR Primer.

For the finish, the clients chose stunning Raj Blend 900x600 Indian Sandstone slabs, which we sourced from our brilliant local supplier, Buttles in Leighton Buzzard. We wrapped up the project using premium Steintec TuffJoint grouting compound to guarantee a flawless, weather-resistant finish with absolutely zero w**d growth.

🚀 New Driveway Transformation Underway! 🚀

We’ve officially kicked off groundworks on a fantastic new driveway project, and the team has been hard at work turning a messy problem into a flawless foundation. 🏡💥

❌ The Problem:
The customer’s existing decorative gravel driveway looked nice initially, but it had started sinking and was constantly overspilling onto the public footpath. Not only was it a daily hassle to sweep up, but it was also becoming a real trip hazard.

🏗️ The KDS Solution (The Groundwork):
Preparation is everything when it comes to a long-lasting driveway. To fix the issue properly, we brought in the heavy machinery and called in some excellent local businesses to get the job done right:

Excavation: Utilised a handy 1.5-tonne digger from Aylesbury Plant Hire Ltd to clear out the failing surface.

Clearance: All the old muck and waste was quickly and efficiently cleared off-site by Ben Mason Grab Hire.

The Foundation: Built back up with 7 tonnes of Type 3 MOT (an absolute MUST for resin bound driveways), and a blinding layer of smaller, clean stone delivered by Smiths Aggregates, to ensure a rock-solid, fully stable, and permeable sub-base.

🤝 Teamwork Makes the Dream Work!
The ground is now perfectly prepped and levelled! We are handing the baton over to another local company to complete the final resin bound transformation.

They will be finishing the driveway with a high-quality resin bound base, two layers of structural reinforcement mesh and a stunning, durable resin bound finish.

No more sinking, no more loose stone on the footpath—just a sleek, modern, low-maintenance finish built to last. 💪✨

🔨 Project Update: Wingbury Farm Glamping 🌿
We’ve been out in the sunshine at Wingbury Farm Glamping and Wingrave Business Park this week! It was a pleasure to help refresh such a stunning local spot.

One job involved removing some tired old hazel hurdle fencing and replacing it with three sturdy new panels to sharpen up the boundaries. We also tackled some light garden maintenance to make sure everything is looking pristine for their guests.

What we did:
✅ Removed & disposed of old hazel hurdles
✅ Supplied & installed 3 premium fence panels
✅ Seasonal garden tidy-up

There’s nothing like the smell of fresh timber! 🪵✨
