A lot of people think using a handheld Agrilaser is just pointing a laser around… but there’s actually a lot more to it than that.

Using the AVIX/Agrilaser properly takes training, technique, awareness, and understanding bird behaviour to get the best results safely and effectively. From distance and light conditions to beam angles and safe operation, there’s a reason proper certification matters. ()

At Lancashire Bird Control, every single member of our team holds up-to-date laser certification, and we renew these yearly to keep our knowledge fresh and make sure we’re always working to the highest standards. 👍

It’s not about just owning the equipment — it’s about knowing how to use it correctly.

CPD isn’t just a box ticking exercise for us — it’s about making sure our team are always learning, improving, and staying up to date with the latest industry standards. 💪

Every member of staff completes ongoing Continuing Professional Development, and as a British Pest Control Association accredited company, we’re regularly audited to make sure we’re doing things the right way and keeping standards high. ✅

Not your usual hawk walk captured at Wigan FC 😂
Jeff had already done what he was there for and cleared the stadium perfectly. On the way back though, he decided to take the scenic route and strolled LED boards around the pitch instead of flying. 😅
Still doing his job… just with a bit more attitude than expected.
PS: As always, the work was completed to a high standard — this was just Jeff adding his own bit of entertainment on the exit. 🦅

One of the biggest misconceptions about bird control is that it means harming birds.

At Lancashire Bird Control, that isn’t our aim at all. We’re all animal lovers and fully understand the importance of maintaining the balance of the ecosystem.

Our work focuses on prevention and natural deterrence. By working with trained birds of prey, we encourage pest species to safely move away from problem areas without causing harm.

It’s a humane, effective and environmentally responsible approach to bird management.

Friendly, approachable, and always happy to chat — if you see us out and about, come say hello.

Back at the end of April, Richard spent a couple of days in Derby at the BPCA Volunteers’ Forum 2026.
He joined fellow committee and Board members from across the country for the Professional Standards workshop, focusing on the practical work that sits behind improving standards across the pest management sector.
It’s not just about meetings and presentations — it’s the ongoing conversations, shared experience and honest input that help shape how the industry moves forward.
Always valuable to step outside of day-to-day work and contribute to something bigger than just our own organisation. 👏
