Eliminate Pest Control & PDS Pest Control today carried out a Drain inspection at a residential property in Banbury, investigating an ongoing rat issue.

Our drainage survey uncovered a manhole chamber that had been built over beneath the property’s kitchen. We exposed this chamber along with a second external inspection chamber in the garden, where defects within the drainage system were identified.

Once the rat eradication programme has been completed by PDS Pest Control, we will return to carry out the necessary drain repairs and proofing works to prevent future infestations.

🐀 Drain Inspections – The Hidden Entry Point for Rats 🐀

Today, myself and my colleague Paul from PDS Pest Control carried out a comprehensive drain inspection at a residential property following ongoing rat activity.

Using specialist drainage inspection equipment, we identified broken and damaged drainage pipes that were providing rats with access into the property. This highlights why drain inspections can be a crucial part of diagnosing and resolving persistent rodent issues, as entry points are often hidden below ground and cannot be found through a standard survey alone.

Fortunately, the damaged section of pipe was found to be redundant, which allowed us to install a one-way non-return valve. This enables any rats currently within the system to exit while preventing re-entry through the defective pipework.

Once all rat activity has been brought under control, the redundant pipe will be permanently proofed to eliminate this access point and provide a long-term solution for the customer.

If you’re experiencing recurring rat problems and the source isn’t obvious, a professional drain inspection could reveal what’s happening beneath the surface.

This was a recurring rat issue that had been ongoing for some time. Another Pest Control technicians initially attended and installed a valve in the drainage system, but unfortunately this did not resolve the problem.

After carrying out a detailed inspection, ingress points were discovered underneath the decking area. As you can see from the photos, the area was carefully dug out so the necessary repairs could be completed and the rat access points sealed properly. 🐀🔧
