Caught this one at the best bit šŸ˜‚šŸ‘‡

We didn’t get a proper photo before we started, but the halfway shots probably show the difference better anyway.

You can see exactly where the surface cleaner had been and how much dirt had built up across the blocks over time.

Once the whole drive was cleaned, everything was rinsed down and left looking a completely different colour to where we started.

If your driveway’s looking a bit tired, a proper clean can make a bigger difference than you’d think.

Or if you’ve forgotten what colour the blocks are supposed to be… we can probably help with that too šŸ˜‚

You don’t always know what’s under the moss until you start taking it off šŸ‘‡

From the ground, a roof can look like it just needs a clean.

Up close can be a different story.

Once the moss starts coming away, you can find cracked or slipped tiles, damaged ridge or verge mortar, old repairs, blocked valleys, bits of leadwork that need attention, or tiles that have been sitting loose without anyone knowing.

Some of those may be small jobs when they’re found early.

Left hidden, they’ve got a much better chance of turning into something more expensive.

That’s one of the reasons we don’t just look at roof cleaning as making the house look better.

Getting the moss off means we can actually see what’s going on underneath it.

And if we spot something while we’re up there, we’ll tell you.

One of those jobs you don’t really notice… until it hasn’t been done for a while šŸ‘‡

Moss from the roof, leaves and general debris all find their way into gutters eventually.

Once enough builds up, rainwater has nowhere sensible to go.
This one was cleared out properly and left ready for the next downpour.

No climbing on the roof either, we can clear a lot of gutters safely from ground level using our high-reach vacuum system.

If yours have started growing their own little garden... it might be time, give us a call.

Would you know if the treatment being sprayed over your roof was actually legal to use?

Most people wouldn't.

And why would you?

You're paying somebody to clean your roof. You shouldn't need to spend your evening researching chemical regulations beforehand.

But biocides are regulated, and where approval is required, the product needs that approval before it can legally be supplied and used.

That's one reason we're particular about what we use.

Our treatment is BacClear Pro BAC50 from PureSeal Services.

It's a licensed professional surface biocide, registered on the HSE's COPR database under No. 10878, with specific guidance for professional roof use.

So there's no mystery around what's being put on your property.

It has a name.

A manufacturer.

Proper product information.

And a registration that can actually be checked.

BacClear Pro is also bleach-free, acid-free and non-caustic.

Its active ingredient is BAC — benzalkonium chloride.

If you've never heard of it before, you're probably not alone.

BAC chemistry is also widely used in disinfectant products, including a range healthcare products too.
That doesn't make our roof treatment exactly the same as hospital disinfectant, and that doesn't mean we're going to be scrubbing your roof with disinfectant wipesšŸ˜‚

It simply gives a bit of perspective to a name that sounds far more intimidating when you've no idea what it actually is.

We don't expect customers to know the chemistry.

We don't expect you to understand HSE regulations either.

But we think the company putting something over one of the most important parts of your home should.

And we think you should always be able to ask what they're using and get a straight answer.

With us, you canšŸ™‚

Here’s some before and afters, with a few bits in between šŸ‘‡

This was another one of our jobs in Bloxham, and there’s quite a mix in this one.

It started with the roof, removing the moss without pressure washing or walking across the tiles, before clearing out the gutters and applying a biocide treatment afterwards.

Once the roof was sorted, we worked our way around the rest of the outside too. The gutters, fascia's and soffits were cleaned, along with the windows and door frames and everything left tidy.

The front door had seen better days and had begun to fade as well, so rather than just giving it a quick clean we restored it properly and gave it back some of its original colour.

If there are a few things around the outside of yours that could do with sorting, give us a shout for a free quote!

We’d rather build this than spend the day walking all over your roof šŸ‘‡

Our mobile scaffold tower isn’t just about getting us up to roof level. Paired with the Marshall air, it gives us a proper working platform so we can clean large sections from the edge and keep unnecessary walking across your roof to a minimum.

It also means we’re not trying to work from awkward ladder positions or leaning where we shouldn’t be, which helps reduce the chance of damaging gutters, fascias or soffits just to gain access.

And because it’s mobile, we can take it down, move it round the property and set it back up wherever we need it next.
It’s quick and easy, there’s no need for fixed scaffolding around the house or the extra cost that comes with it.

Better access for us. Less unnecessary contact with your roof and roofline.

This roof was cleaned around 3 years ago.

The difference between this customer’s roof and the neighbour’s is outstanding, especially after the years that have passed.

It shows how well the biocide treatment we apply, and how we apply it, works. This is why you should always opt for a properly trained & qualified company to carry out the work.

You may have seen the horror stories.
Roofs being blasted, gutters being bent, damage being caused, or roofs being cleaned and treated only to be full of moss again within a couple of years and never looking properly clean.

Here’s what we at Clear Skies do differently

Roof cleaning:
Marshall Air system and manual scraping techniques. Controlled moss removal, no pressure washing on the roof and optional biocide treatments for long-term results.
We use our mobile scaffold tower where suitable to help keep unnecessary walking across the tiles to a minimum. Gutters are also cleared as part of every full roof clean.

Gutter, fascia and soffit cleaning:
High-reach vacuum system for safe gutter clearing, with no need to stand on your roof. Fascias, soffits and the outside of the guttering can also be cleaned.

Biocide treatments:
HSE-authorised biocide products, fully compliant with the UK’s Control of Pesticides Regulations (COPR), applied by a fully trained and approved biocide applicator.
Fully insured, tidy work, with care taken to protect render, windows and landscaping.

If you’d like us to take a look at your roof or gutters, drop us a message.

We believe in honest work. All quotes are free and pressure-free. You decide if and when you’re ready.

What a difference by the end of this one šŸ‘‡

A recent job in Bloxham with moss across the roof, full gutters and the roofline ready for a good clean.

We removed the moss without pressure washing, cleared the gutters, cleaned the fascias and soffits, then applied a biocide treatment afterwards.

The treatment will continue working after we leave, helping to keep the roof cleaner for longer and slowing down future organic growth.

Really pleased with how this one finished up.

Yes, we do own a pressure washer šŸ˜‚

We just don’t use it on roofs.

Driveways and patios are a different story.

Alongside our roof and gutter work, we also clean driveways, patios and other suitable outdoor surfaces.

This had built up plenty of dirt and grime over the years. A proper clean brought the colour back through and made a massive difference.

Turns out the pressure washer does have a place after all.
Just not on your roof.šŸ˜‚

If your driveway or patio could do with a proper clean, drop us a message.
