With high winds tomorrow, you may experience oil and gas boilers making strange noises, or not running properly.
This will be fine once the winds die down.
Although if your Oil boiler is a little smokey out the flue terminal, turn the boiler off, as it will only get worse and can be expensive to rectify.

Unfortunately folks I'm still not back to full health and unable to return to work just yet. The left leg bones have alot of gaps to fill and fully harden before I can safely use them, and not encouraging any setbacks.

I'm the meantime folks, keep an eye for the little things in your heating systems and plumbing that will tide you over until the new year and I'm able to call.

Points to be conscious of...

1.If your oil/gas heating system is pressurized, you need to keep an eye on the pressure gauge, ideally being around 1bar when your system is cold. Bleed radiators and top up pressure as necessary.

2. If your getting an oil delivery, turn off your heating and keep it off while delivery is un action AND for an hour afterwards to prohibit dirt and sludge being drawn through to the boiler.

3. If your heading away any length of time over christmas or anytime during cold weather. Turn off the stop c**k, turn your boiler thermostat down to around 60 and allow the heating to come on as normal. Do this for an hour in the morning and a couple of hours in the evening to keep heat in the house,to prevent pipes from freezing.
