Hi all, its Sarah. Jason has come home today devastated after being verbally abused by a customer. He puts his heart and soul into his work and thinks of his regular customers as friends more than customers if I'm honest.

The lady in question agreed to a price and as Jason knew that they wanted it doing ASAP he did it last week on the hottest day - he actually made himself ill because of the heat. He knew they were on holiday and wanted to make it so they came home to a stunning garden.

Jason and Mark have been doing this job for a while now - Mark for about 10 years and Jason for about 38 (even though he says he's only 21 years old 🤔🙄😜). Over this time they have mastered their trade and can do an amazing job in a lot less time than it would take a non professional - think about Gordon Ramsay chopping an onion compared to a normal person who just cooks for necessity/fun.

They were at this job last week for over 2 hours and in that time they changed the entire rear garden from overgrown and w**d infest to a garden that was neat, tidy and had bare soil visible between plants etc. Apparently a neighbour was 'spying' on them and the fact that they were there for over 2 hours was thrown in his face numerous times today.

At the end of the day they could have done 10 minutes then sat and had a drink and dragged it out all day or all week for that matter, the price was the price and wouldn't change if it had taken them longer than expected. The job that was agreed was done and done to a very high standard. He also put down w**dkiller at no extra charge which costs him a fortune!!

Today he has been called a cowboy and had a torrent of abuse thrown at him for nearly 20 minutes and was told that she was going to 'ruin his business '.
He was also underpaid by a very large amount but by that time he just wanted to get out of their house so accepted it. He wouldn't rip anyone off (other than himself) and often does little extras for people without adding on any money to the bill. He is a person and takes everything to heart so he's been left incredibly upset by this today. Please remember when you have someone coming to do a job for you that they are people with feelings and treat them how you'd want to be treated.

Thanks for listening, I had to get it off my chest because seeing him like he is is really upsetting for myself and our kids.

Spring is upon us and we are chomping at the bit to get back to it. We had planned on starting back this week (w/c 6th March) but I think the weather has other things in mind so it'll probably be w/c 13th. If you are a regular we will be in touch in the next few day to let you know when to expect to see our happy, youthful faces 😵‍💫😊, if you aren't a customer yet and would like a quote for a one off tidy up or for ongoing maintenance please get in touch. Hey ladies and gents, it's Sarah. I wanted to put up a quick post as Jason started back for the season last week. Jason and I understand that everyone is having to tighten their belts this year but because of fuel increases, cost of living increases etc we have had to put our prices up a little this year (the last time we tried to increase slightly was over 8 years ago!). We have kept it as low as we possibly can at £2 (some small gardens have only been increased by £1) and have had some customers accept it but some have been quite funny with me about it. Jason has always prided himself on being reliable and regular for all of his clients and always does the best he can possibly do. He happily gives up big chunks of his weekend to do quotes and to collect payments from customers and has missed out on nearly all of the kids special occasions at school over the years because work comes first for him as he has so many people that worry if he doesn't turn up at his usual time.

It is really devastating to see him sitting worrying because he is losing customers (some that he has had for over 17 years) over a small increase as I know how much time and emotion he invests in each of them. As I said, some people are being quite shirty about it too but we have no choice, we still have to pay all of the business expenses, wages and other costs plus run a house and bring up 3 children so we need to make a little profit. Making the calls to tell everyone has been awful this year but what made it worse is how some people spoke to me. All I ask is that everyone tries to understand that small, independent businesses are really hurting so please be kind and remember that they are not doing it to increase their profit margins we are all just trying to survive

I just wanted to let everyone know that for the next couple of weeks Jason may be a little later than usual, he will get to you on the same day as normal but please don't think he's forgotten you if he doesn't arrive at the same time as he usually does.

He put his back out at the weekend when he was trying to fix his van which has now had to be towed to the garage to be fixed. He is continuing to work as he wants you to have your gardens maintained to the usual standard plus we now have to pay a fortune to have the van fixed 😬🙄.
He may be a bit slower than usual so if you can be patient with him I know it would mean a lot. This is the last thing we needed after the past year but hopefully things will get back to normal quickly 🙏
