📍 Barnsley | Ford Transit | Key Remote Repair

Some days in this job you think you've seen it all...

And then a customer rocks up with THIS. 👇

This was the "spare" key that came with their newly purchased Ford Transit. Now, I'll keep my professional opinion to myself... but let's just say whoever did this had clearly watched one too many YouTube tutorials and decided halfway through was a good time to improvise. 😂

The remote wasn't working. Shock. Horror. I can't say I was surprised.

What I COULD NOT get my head around was why they went to ALL that effort to crack the key open (which, fair enough, is actually the hard part) and then decided the finishing touches were... optional. A battery held together with what I can only describe as hope and a prayer. Frankenstein would be proud. 💀

Anyway. Job done properly:

✅ Key cleaned up
✅ Frankenstein battery removed (RIP)
✅ Contact points cleaned
✅ Brand new battery soldered on correctly

Result? Fully working remote. Like magic. Almost like it was supposed to work this way all along. 😏

🚨 Shafton | Mercedes Sprinter | Stolen EIS & No Keys 🚨

We got a call from a company who had suffered a serious van break-in. The thieves couldn't get in the easy way — so they decided to cause as much damage as possible, stripping out key modules and leaving the van completely dead on the road. 💀

The company sourced a new door lock and a second-hand EIS and called us in to work our magic.

Here's what we did:

✅ Decoded the new door lock and cut brand new emergency blades from scratch
✅ Reprogrammed the second-hand EIS to match the vehicle's existing immobiliser data
✅ Matched the VINs so the van would fully recognise itself again
✅ Restored full functionality — including the steering lock
✅ Programmed TWO brand new remote keys

Barnsley | Jaguar XF | BCM Corruption After Battery Replacement 🔑🚗

There is nothing worse on older JLR vehicles than replacing the battery or carrying out routine maintenance, only to be greeted with "No Smart Key Detected" or suddenly losing central locking, remote functions, and various other features entirely.

That is exactly what happened here. The owner reached out after having a new battery fitted, and while the car still started and ran fine, all central locking and associated functions had completely stopped working. After getting the full rundown, we connected our diagnostics and quickly pinpointed the problem: the BCM (Body Control Module) had become corrupted during the battery swap.

This is a surprisingly common fault on older JLR vehicles, and one that catches many garages off guard. With the right equipment and expertise, we had the BCM resolved in no time. No unnecessary parts. No inflated costs. Just a clean fix and a fully working Jaguar XF back on the road.
