We gone green!

Have you spotted the new Boden electric vans yet?

As part of our commitment to sustainability and protecting the environment we're always looking for opportunities to reduce our carbon footprint, whether that be installing electric vehicle chargers at our offices, providing all staff with water bottles to reduce the use of single use plastics, or identifying opportunities to minimise waste sent to landfill.

Our latest step is the addition of two new electric vans to our fleet.

We're proud to be a 2026 sponsor of Exeter Chiefs Official, with our logo appearing on this season's men's away kit.

However, our support of Exeter Chiefs hasn't just started this year. In fact, it goes back 10 years, as we were reminded at the recent 2026 Kit Launch, when Exeter Chiefs' Ho**er Jack Yeandle mentioned that he had visited our Barnstaple head office way back in 2016.

Back in 2016, Boden, in collaboration with ChemoHero, hosted a Bake Off competition, with Jack and another member of the Chief's team joining us as honorary head judges. It was a great reminder of just how long we've been supporting Exeter Chiefs, and a chance to reflect on how important it is to us to play even a small part in supporting an organisation that means so much to Devon.

We're wishing both the men's and women's teams the best of luck for the current season.

Last week Boden's Managing Director, Andrew Beagley, completed the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge in aid of several Forces charities.

The challenge, which was organised by VIVO Defence Services, sought to raise funds for three very worthwhile causes -
Army Benevolent Fund
RAF Benevolent Fund
Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity

As an ex-Marine himself, raising money for the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity is of personal importance to Andrew, and his dedication to the cause helped to fuel the epic feat which took place across the stunning, but challenging, Yorkshire terrain. The challenge covered a 24-mile route which took nearly 11 hours with 5,200 feet of ascent.

A massive congratulations to Andrew and the VIVO team who so far have raised over £3,400 for the chosen charities, and a big thanks to the Boden Team who supported the cause donating over £450.

Our latest Boden Voices post features Teo, a Gas Engineer in our Mobile Team.

Teo is an important part of the Boden team with a reputation for being positive and always willing to support his colleagues.

His dedication has also been recognised by clients, with one commenting "I have had [Teo] on site for 5 days completing PPM and gathering data. In my 6 years in this job I have never come across a more diligent and conscientious fitter."

Earlier this year Boden completed a Community Support Scheme project for Havelock Community Centre in Portsmouth.

The centre were looking for a general maintenance volunteer to assist with a variety of tasks at the centre. Over time a number of jobs had built up, and as a charity run centre Havelock had little budget for upkeep, so needed volunteer support to be able to keep the centre safe and running.

Through the Community Support Scheme Boden were able to complete several maintenance tasks including:
• Fitting safety wires to windows
• Tightening wobbly taps
• Installing new toilet seats
• Fitting new bolts and hinges to the garden gate
• Fixing lose stair carpet
• Replacing damaged sink panelling
• Repairing and painting a children’s play kitchen

This Community Support Scheme project was also supported by Northport Construction Services, who kindly sent a team of their own engineers to complete some required repairs to the garden wall.
