Working with Pearce Construction (Barnstaple), David Wilson Partnership developed intial brief requirements for a new Dog Training Facility for local Dog’s Trust Facility. The proposed accommodation included Office space, wc and kitchen facility together with a flexible multi use space that could be sub divided to accommodate Dog Training sessions, group meetings and staff training sessions.

The proposed design delivered a simple, elegant timber clad barn nestled into the landscape. The Project was delivered by Pearce Construction and utilized a timber frame construction to enable ease of building on a restricted site.

Cobb Cottage ~ swipe to see the existing and initial sketch proposal along with more images taken on project completion.

The project featured a new green oak frame extension to an existing Grade II* listed property near Barnstaple, North Devon. The original cottage was of cob wall construction with a thatched roof. The extension infilled a previously open corner against the cottage and involved utility and underground service alterations in addition to new services and drainage.

Working closely with the specialist timber frame manufacturer ensured that a high level of specification and finish was produced to fulfil the clients brief for the project.

It’s great to look back and reflect where initially a project started. Here are the concept sketches we produced for the South Molton Health Centre.

The challenging brief required not only the unification of two practices with two identities and needs, but also required the extension and refurbishment of the buildings whilst being set in a conservation area.

The design proposed a new double height waiting area that forms a central hub space to the newly combined practices from which the refurbished and newly provided consultation and treatment room radiate. The design incorporates timber panelling and furniture to ensure that the space is warm and welcoming as well as being light and airy.
