We are currently looking for 1 x NDT technician holding the following competencies/certificates:

1) PCN level 2 in MPI and UT
2) GWO Basic Safety Training
3) OGUK Medical
4) Chester Step

Current programme is for 3 x 15 day trips (7 days off) in the Irish Sea commencing 14th October and running to mid-December. This will be mobilising from/returning to Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria each day (accommodation provided) and will be based on 12hrs per day working.

Work at height: Rope access basic safety - Message No. 1

If you can do a job without having to work at height, then this is the way it should be done.

Safe working is all about appraising your options. Always look to remove the hazard (a fall from height) before taking action to reduce the risk posed by it (the distance of the fall and its consequences).

Keeping yourself safe is rule no.1 when working at height. By keeping yourself safe, you’ll ensure others remain safe, as your behaviour will influence those around you.

When working at height personal behaviours really do matter, so don’t take things for granted and continually check key parts of your safety system!

Over the course of this month, SN-Access will be posting some safety focused reminders for rope access technicians. Hopefully these will be well received.

CNC Programmer needed, not Rope Access. Details below.

SN-Group manufacture precision parts for the defence and energy sectors.

We are looking for a experienced CNC Programmer to support our machining operations (turning and milling) at our main facility in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria.

You will be supported by CNC operators and will be working alongside other machinists. Prior experience with programming of Mazak and Hurco machines is essential to this role.
