Hello Everyone,

Jake here. As some of you may have already seen, the date has been set for Jon’s funeral: 25/07/25. I wanted to share all the details so everyone knows where to be and when.

Close friends and family should arrive at Nan’s house at 14:45, and we will head to the crematorium shortly after. Please note that parking is very limited at Nan’s, which is why this group should remain small.

The service will be held at Basildon Crematorium & Cemetery, Church Road, SS13 2HC. Everyone else should aim to arrive on or before 15:15.

The wake will take place just around the corner at The Gun Pub, London Road, SS13 2DU. The pub has a fairly large car park, but some may need to find alternative parking nearby.

If anyone would like to send flowers, please arrange for them to be delivered on the morning of the funeral to:
T. Cribbage & Sons,
The Broadway, 3 High Road, SS13 3AR.

For those planning to stay in the area overnight, there are multiple local hotels. I’d recommend booking early to avoid inflated prices.

Dress Code: Comfortable & colourful. Anyone seen wearing all black will be heckled on sight.

Lastly, I just want to thank everyone who donated to the GoFundMe. Your support has meant a lot and has helped us give Jon the send-off he truly deserves.

Please excuse my lack of updates recently, I've actually been sub-contracting & carrying out numerous maintenance jobs for a dear friend that actually worked along side us some 25+ years ago. One of the many delights he passed my way has been assisting bailiff's in executing a possession order on a 1 acre plot which has been a "little challenging" 😳 & is still ongoing, not a particularly nice job having to force a young family from their home right before Christmas, but I have a job to do & I'm trying to be as accommodating as I can be.

So….had to pull off of my big Romford refurb. job (which is at a stage whereby the customer is now perfectly comfortable & happy) to come down & help my little brother blitz an end of tenancy complete whitewash of a lovely little 3 bed cottage hidden away in the woods, a quick turnaround is needed to get the property back on the market. It’s been lovely working with him again especially as his big birthday approaches at the end of the month. ☺️💪🏼❤️
P.S. I reckon 72 down lights in the main living area is a tad overkill mind you. 😳😂
