Today’s job came with a bit of a challenge — all waste had to be carefully taken through the house bit by bit to avoid any mess or damage.

Before starting, we made sure every wall, floor, and surface was fully protected using plastic wrap and cardboard throughout the property. Preparation and cleanliness are just as important to us as the tree work itself, and we always take the extra steps to leave our customers’ homes spotless and protected from start to finish. 🌿💪

🌲 Conifer Hedge Reduction & Tidy-Up 🌲

Another job completed with a full reduction and reshape of this mature conifer hedge. These had grown tall and dense, blocking light and taking over the garden space — so we brought them back under control while keeping a natural, even finish.

We carefully reduced the height, trimmed the sides, and cleared everything down, leaving a much brighter and more usable garden 🌞

Let there be light 🌿☀️

Big transformation on this one — a full row of conifers reduced by half, opening everything up and bringing that much-needed light back into the space.

This job definitely tested us. With no direct access, everything had to be taken through a garden, over years’ worth of dumped rubbish, and down two long alleyways. Even getting the waste processed through the machine was a challenge with tight access and parked cars in the way.

But as always, we made it happen 💪
Brought in two extra hands today and the whole team pulled together to get it done safely and efficiently.

No matter the obstacles, we always find a way.

🌳 Oak Tree Reduction – Langdon Hills 🌳

Before:
This mature oak had become overextended with a dense crown and previous reduction points visible. The canopy was starting to push out beyond its natural shape, putting extra weight on the limbs and reducing overall structure.

After:
We carried out a full crown reduction, taking the tree back above the previous reduction points. Every branch was carefully cut back to suitable growth points, maintaining the tree’s natural shape while promoting long-term health and regrowth.

🌳 Dead Sycamore Tree Safely Removed – Havering 🌳

Our team recently carried out the safe dismantling of a dead Sycamore tree in Havering. The tree was previously protected by a Tree Preservation Order (TPO), but due to its declining condition and safety concerns, permission was granted for the TPO to be lifted.

After approval, the tree was carefully dismantled in sections using full rigging techniques to ensure the work was carried out safely and with minimal impact to the surrounding area.

Another busy day for the team at Hills Tree Surgery carrying out a large conifer reduction in Romford. These conifers had become overgrown and were blocking light into the garden, so we carefully reduced the height and sides to bring them back under control while keeping them healthy and tidy.
