We have just completed the external decoration of this four-bedroom detached house.

Before we could start decorating, there was quite a bit of preparation work to carry out. We repaired the fascia and soffit, replaced the timbers on one of the gable ends and made sure everything was properly prepared before applying the coatings.

We applied two coats of Chestnut Barn paint to the cladding, fascias and soffits, giving the property a fresh, smart and long-lasting finish.

We also replaced the existing gutters with new deep-flow gutters, increasing the capacity to capture rainwater during periods of heavy rainfall. 🌧️

One of the things we particularly love about this project is that this customer is a repeat customer. Having used our services previously, they trusted us again to carry out another project on their home.

For us, that really means a lot. Repeat customers and recommendations are the biggest compliment we can receive.

Do you know how to turn your water off in an emergency?

A burst pipe, leaking toilet, failed tap or damaged water pipe can quickly cause serious damage to your home. One of the first things you should know is where your stopcock is and how to turn it off.

💧 When was the last time you checked yours?

It’s a good idea to turn your stopcock off and back on twice a year to make sure it still operates freely and hasn’t seized up.

Think of it like checking the batteries in your smoke alarms — it’s a simple routine that could save you a lot of trouble when you need it most.

✅ Know where your stopcock is
✅ Make sure everyone in the household knows how to use it
✅ Check it regularly to make sure it turns easily
✅ If you have a leak, turn the water off as quickly as possible

🔧 Another small job completed today! 💧

Today I replaced a set of leaking basin taps. While it may seem like a small job, a leaking tap is never something to ignore — especially when we should all be doing our bit to conserve water. 💦

While carrying out the work, I also found that an old section of pipework was in very poor condition, so I cut it out and replaced it to ensure everything was left in good order.

I also fitted isolation valves to both the hot and cold feeds, making any future maintenance or tap replacement much quicker and easier.

Another job completed properly, with a few improvements along the way. 👍
