Whether the match was a win or loss

Even at grand slams

Why?

To iron out any weaknesses that might have cropped up

So she doesn’t take the same mistakes into the following match

Wow I have some top tier admiration for that

But I guess.. there’s a reason she’s a grand slam champion...

And it just goes to show success comes from doing the work that nobody will ever see

The hours of grind on the tennis court for Coco

The wiring inside the boiler for us

Oh wait… did I just make this story about gas work? Haha

But it’s a valid point, right?

Quality of work breeds success

And I’m no grand slam tennis champion

But we like the tidy look

It’s the bit of work the customer doesn’t really see

Or take notice of

But the aesthetic of that wiring matters to us

We are the glad slam champions of Basingstoke plumbing and gas work

I just can’t get on board with the croc trend

I’m probably just being stubborn

Because once upon a time I didn’t care what I wore on my feet

And to be fair to a degree now, I still don’t

But you’re more likely to see me running a marathon in the African heat

Than catch me wearing a pair of crocs this summer

What can I say, I’m just happy walking around in my Nike trainers

They are comfortable, sturdy and just what I’m used to

But that’s the problem isn’t it

With playing it safe

And I see customers doing it too

“Oh but what if the room doesn’t get warm enough if we move that radiator?”
“But won’t that shower tray be more slippy?”

The human brain is designed to play it safe, stay within our comfort zone

But until you move that radiator or have the new shower tray installed

You won’t know what you’re missing

Think about it this way

I’m never going to recommend something for your home to make it WORSE

It’s in my best interest to keep you happy

And it’s fair, some customers will always play it safe

But sometimes it’s worth describing what magic is waiting for them on the other side

We’re trusted experts in this industry for a reason

Okay, you’re right.. maybe it’s time I tried some crocs…

But don’t hold your breath just yet 😛

This post is for you

Would I be right in saying you haven’t used your outdoor tap yet?

Or maybe you have and you’ve already found it but done nothing about it

THE LEAK

That annoying little bit of dripping water from the tap or hose that needs fixing

So if it’s dripping from where the hose connects, it’s a simple fix

1. Unscrew the hose

2. Check the rubber washer inside

3. Replace it (it costs pennies)

That alone fixes a lot of the leaks

But if it’s leaking from the tap itself

We need to come out and sort that for you

When that water hit the back of my neck I saw stars

I held my breath for about 1.7 seconds

I thought it was the end

And then somehow I managed to exhale again

And I live to yell down the stairs at my fiancé what she nearly did to me

A boiling hot shower can kill, you know?

Our argument is always the same

She thinks scolding hot water is acceptable

I.. do not

So we decided enough was enough with the endless twisting of the dial back and forth depending who was in the shower

So we upgraded

To a shower with.. yep.. you thought right

Precise temperature settings

They exist with modern showers

I know, your local plumber with a modern shower in his own home

Well I’ll tell you something for free

There’s now one less repetitive argument in our house

And it’s wonderful
