Thermal Care Scotland is looking for an organised and reliable Service and Office Administrator to join our team in Bathgate.

This is a full-time, office-based role supporting the day-to-day running of our service department.

📍 Location: Bathgate, West Lothian
💷 Salary: £27,500–£30,000 per year, depending on experience
🕗 Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm
📄 Job type: Full-time, Permanent

The role will include:

✅ Answering customer calls and emails
✅ Logging service requests and breakdowns
✅ Scheduling engineer appointments
✅ Updating jobs and customer information in Joblogic
✅ Keeping customers updated on appointments and progress
✅ Raising purchase orders and ordering materials
✅ Processing supplier invoices and receipts
✅ Assisting with invoicing, payment lists and month-end administration
✅ Updating customer portals
✅ Providing general office and administrative support

We are looking for someone with:

✅ Previous office administration experience
✅ Strong customer service and communication skills
✅ Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
✅ Excellent organisation and time-management skills
✅ The ability to manage a busy and varied workload
✅ Strong attention to detail
✅ A professional and reliable approach

Experience using Joblogic, Xero, customer portals or scheduling field-based engineers would be beneficial, but training can be provided.

Thermal Care Scotland is expanding its operations across North East England, and we are recruiting for three full-time, permanent positions:

❄️ Air Conditioning Installation Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Air Conditioning Installation Engineer to complete high-quality domestic and commercial installations across the region.

Salary: £40,000–£50,000 per year, depending on experience

Applicants should have:

✅ Category 1 F-Gas qualification
✅ Strong air conditioning installation experience
✅ Experience with split, multi-split and commercial systems
✅ Good knowledge of refrigeration pipework, condensate drainage and electrical connections
✅ Full UK driving licence
✅ 18th Edition qualification preferred

🛠️ Air Conditioning Engineers Mate

We are looking for a practical and reliable Engineers Mate to work alongside our Air Conditioning Installation Engineer.

The role will involve assisting with installations, preparing materials and tools, installing pipework and containment, positioning equipment and keeping work areas safe and tidy.

Pay: National Minimum Wage, based on age and experience

Applicants should have:

✅ Some experience in air conditioning, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, construction or a similar trade
✅ Experience using hand and power tools
✅ A strong work ethic and willingness to learn
✅ Good timekeeping and reliability
✅ Full UK driving licence

Training and opportunities to progress within the air conditioning industry will be provided.

⚡ Electrician

We are also looking for an experienced Electrician to support our air conditioning, heating and renewable energy installations.

Salary: £40,000–£50,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications

Applicants should have:

✅ Completed a recognised electrical apprenticeship or Level 3 Electrical NVQ
✅ Practical domestic or commercial electrical experience
✅ Ability to install, inspect and test electrical circuits
✅ Strong fault-finding skills
✅ Full UK driving licence
✅ 18th Edition qualification preferred
✅ Inspection and Testing qualification preferred

Experience with HVAC, three-phase systems, solar PV, batteries, EV chargers or heat pumps would be beneficial.

A few things worth asking before you sign anything:

✅ Is the certificate still active (not just something from a few years back)?
✅ Does it cover BOTH solar panels and battery storage, if you're having both fitted?
✅ Is the company on the certificate actually the one doing the work?

Takes two minutes to check on the official MCS installer database. Worth every second. 👍

If a battery or EV charger might be on the cards in the next few years, it's worth designing your solar system with that in mind now. A 'battery-ready' install means adding one later is quick, not a whole new job.
