Swipe to see this incredible before and after transformation in Thetford. We completely stripped the property back to its shell, replacing all doors, windows and structural alterations to the roof. The garden was fully re-landscaped, a redundant kitchen door was blocked up to improve layout, and we extended into the attached outhouse to create a spacious, functional kitchen.

The result? A beautifully modernised home with significantly increased value and a stunning new chapter for this once-dated bungalow.

Private House Refurbishment & Construction of New Build- Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk

Vantage Building completed a comprehensive refurbishment project for a returning private client, who sought to modernise his property whilst maintaining the traditional architectural features. His primary objective was to update the space in preparation for a future sale.

Our team recommended subdividing the property to form two separate dwellings, a strategy designed to maximise the client’s return on investment.

Following the removal of asbestos, we undertook structural works to the roof, which included re-insulating and enhancing ventilation. The addition of new ceilings and partition walls further optimised the layout, enabling the client to fully capitalise on the available footprint of each dwelling, thereby increasing the overall property value.

All existing interiors were removed and replaced with new high-quality kitchens and bathrooms, with all plumbing and electrical work carried out. To align with the client’s desire to maintain the property’s character, traditional Burlington sanitary ware and classic shaker style kitchens were chosen to complement the cottage’s charm.

In addition to refurbishing the existing building, the client wished to utilise the land adjacent to the existing property for the construction of a new build property, expanding the site’s overall potential. Due to its more modern construction, the new build was fitted with contemporary style sanitary ware and a slab kitchen range, to appeal to the contemporary market.

Private House Renovation - Aldeburgh, Suffolk

Initially purchased for its prime coastal location, this cottage required a total redesign to better align to our clients' intention of leasing for holiday rentals.

In the competitive rental market, efficient space utilisation is the key to success. To maximise the property's potential, we undertook a loft conversion, creating a master bedroom with an ensuite, fitted with modern sanitaryware. Velux and dormer windows were added to increase natural light, whilst storage was integrated into the ashlar walls for additional space.

To accommodate the loft conversion, the ground floor staircase was reconfigured, promoting an open plan kitchen/diner arrangement- an incredibly popular feature in the current housing market. With wasted space beneath the stairs, we designed a bespoke made to measure unit to house an American fridge freezer, washing machine, and a wine rack, ensuring a flush and modern aesthetic. The kitchen was fully redesigned with the client opting for vinyl wrapped shaker doors, a quartz worktop, and high-end appliances, to create a functional cooking space.

On the first floor, we reconstructed the layout to ensure all bedrooms could comfortably accommodate double beds, with Volante sliding wardrobes providing storage areas. The main bathroom was expanded to incorporate both a bath and a shower, meeting the desires of modern renters.

This redesign and modernisation has successfully transformed this coastal cottage into a sought-after holiday rental.
