Fat Leaf Ltd designs, manufactures & retails this country's finest wooden planters & outdoor furniture, and we do some fantastic landscaping

We pride ourselves on making or designing anything for outside. We mainly work with timber but also use steel & stone on certain projects. We have a range of off-the-shelf products and a huge portfolio of bespoke items. At Fat Leaf we only use local sustainable, untreated timber. Everything is natural, no chemical preservatives here. We predominantly use larch - the UK has loads of it and it lasts far longer than imported treated softwoods our competitors use and it looks & ages far better.

What a year! It's the smallest team we've ever had in-house, which was scary at first but ultimately liberating.

It's a shame businesses like ours are being discouraged from employing people, particularly young people, but we have adapted to the new climate by reducing our workload and trying to be more particular about the jobs we take on. It's allowed us to be more client-focused and ultimately produce better results.

We have a massive 2026 around the corner with loads of exciting projects

A short story about a man, his wife and a silo.

We first crossed paths with when introduced us last year. They wanted us to put a roof over their outdoor kitchen.

We loved what they do and the passion and creativity both and show for their land, guests and produce. Plans were soon afoot to aquire a silo to turn into a restaurant (obviously). And we were only too happy to help.

The joy in this project was that nothing was "designed" we looked at what we had - a wonky silo and some offcuts of wood and metal, some old glass and a blow torch and we slowly started chipping away.

To be trusted by clients like this is a rare thing, no real budget or design to refer to, just honesty and transparency bothways about what could be done and the result is a really "honest" building, with a heart and sole.

Massive credit to Luke and Sara for what they have created in their magical, awesome fire school/restaurant/silo/horsebox/woodland. It is something very, very special.

Congratulations to all involved in new project in Exmouth

The place looks absolutely fantastic, so warm, friendly and inviting. The team you have assembled, led by the indomitable are a bunch of superstars and the chefs are next level

Designed by from they have captured the essence of a modern coastal relaxed bar and restaurant. There really is nothing pretentious about this place.

It was a pleasure to be involved in this build from day one, these clients really push us to new levels on each project and they give us a very public showcase for our work which we take great pride in.

Really looking forward to a pint and meal in this stunning venue

What a transformation 😍

We were contacted by amazing clients and to build an outdoor kitchen under an existing overhang. Since they were doing that, they decided to redo the cladding above and install some new sash windows... or so we thought!

When we opened up the building we found extensive rot and damp throughout so we had to completely rebuild the whole thing including a new roof, new render on existing building, install a freestanding bath upstairs and finish with decking and timber bifold doors made in-house. We also upgrade existing drainage and driveway.

It wasn't meant to be a mammoth project, but it certainly turned into one! A huge amount of work went into this, and we have to thank our clients for trusting us with their vision when, at times, there were more problems than solutions! But the outcome is pretty special.
