What you don’t see matters just as much as what you do 👇

Drainage is one of the most important parts of any garden project - and one of the most overlooked. Without it, even the best patio or lawn won’t last.

Here, we installed a French drain system to properly manage surface water and protect the property long-term. Using a perforated pipe, wrapped in membrane and surrounded by clean stone, water is collected and safely redirected away from the house.

Depending on the property and access, these systems can either:
• Connect directly into the main drainage
• Or discharge into a soakaway within the garden

Both solutions are designed to prevent water build-up, reduce pressure on structures, and eliminate future issues like pooling, movement, or failed joints.

It’s not the most visible part of the job — but it’s what makes everything else last.

All edged with clay pavers, to add onto the traditional look.

🍀 A full installation using Jatoba Brazilian hardwood, fitted on a properly constructed timber frame with structural posts impregnated with bitumen for long-term ground protection.

Installed over a heavy-duty w**d membrane to prevent future growth and maintain airflow beneath the deck. Finished with integrated LED deck lights, with posts and end-cap lights added at a later stage to complete the look and functionality.

A premium hardwood installation built for durability, drainage and clean detailing throughout.

Before the finishing touches go in, here’s a look at the extensive underground drainage work we’ve carried out on this project.

From the surface, it might look like a tidy outdoor space—but beneath it lies a carefully planned and fully installed drainage system designed to manage water flow, protect the foundation, and future-proof the area from heavy rainfall.
From the use of pipes, to limestone installed as french drains, these are designed to collected thousands of liters of water over the winter, and release it with warmer weather.

This kind of groundwork is critical—and it’s exactly what sets a long-lasting project apart.

🍀 Another week, another fence. This one installed as an extension to an existing concrete posts and gravel boards set up.
To allow for a more dog friendly structure, we've installed a timber extension with new closeboard panels and venetian trellises, as well as 3x entirely new 6ft panels on the right.

For extra support and sturdiness, we've bolted 1m long structural brackets, ensuring a long lasting fence.
