We’re pleased to confirm that M&J Group has secured the roofing refurbishment project at 1–17 Furness Lodge on behalf of Richmond Housing Partnership (RHP).

Works are scheduled to run from March through to July and will include:
🏠 Full re-roofing works
🔨 Roof structure inspections and preparation
☀️ Installation of new PV solar panels
🛠️ Scaffolding and access works throughout the programme

The project will help improve weatherproofing, energy efficiency, and ensure the properties meet current standards for years to come.

Our teams will be working closely with residents and stakeholders throughout the programme to minimise disruption and maintain clear communication at every stage.

We look forward to delivering another successful project in partnership with RHP.

With handover now complete at Lincroft Academy, we’re proud to begin showcasing the outcome of over two years of collaboration, dedication and high-quality delivery from all teams involved on the project. 👏

This timelapse captures the transformation of the Phase 2 building from the initial er****on of the three-storey steel frame through to the completed external envelope.

Following the installation of the structural steelwork and cellular beams, the project rapidly progressed with the addition of metal decking, floor construction, roofing, external brickwork, glazing and façade elements bringing the new facility to life stage by stage.

The footage highlights the coordination, planning and commitment required across every phase to successfully deliver a modern educational building ready for handover.

Project Secured | Heritage Roof Reinstatement

We’re currently delivering a sensitive pitched roof refurbishment project on a locally listed 1920s property, carefully restoring the roof back to its original specification in Westmorland Green slate.

Following previous repair works by another contractor, carried out without awareness of the building’s heritage status, sections of the roof had been replaced using Welsh grey slate. Working closely to satisfy the Local Planning Authority requirements, the project now involves reinstating reclaimed Westmorland Green slate to match the original installation and preserve the character of the building.

Works include:
• Removal and replacement of the lightning conductor system
• Full strip of existing slate, battens and underlay
• Installation of new underlay, battens and eaves ventilation
• Extensive sourcing and sorting of reclaimed Westmorland Green slates
• Re-slating in traditional random widths and gauges
• Careful removal and reinstatement of existing lead ridges, valleys and flashings
• New undercloak and mortar verges throughout

Heritage projects like this require careful planning, skilled craftsmanship and close attention to detail to ensure the building’s historic appearance is protected for the future.

M&J Group is pleased to announce the successful appointment as Principal Designer for Phase 2 roof replacement works at a primary school within the Griffin Schools Trust in Birmingham.

The project scope includes:
✔️ Roof replacement works
✔️ Mobile tower access installation
✔️ One-way reflective window film installation to tower block windows
✔️ Lift shaft flat roof refurbishment
✔️ Replacement of 25 rooflights
✔️ Asbestos survey and removal where required

We look forward to delivering these essential improvement works safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard, helping to enhance the learning environment for staff and pupils alike.
