Completed at Gleneagles Station ✅

Works across Gleneagles Platform are now finished, delivered in collaboration with KRS to upgrade key areas of the station. The project included saw-cutting, removal of damaged concrete and brickwork, excavation, installation of new copes and tactiles, and full reinstatement with new sub-base, concrete, and tarmac.

These improvements enhance durability, safety, and the overall experience for everyone using the station.

We’re proud to share the success of our inaugural Skills Academy - a milestone initiative that’s already making a real difference in North Ayrshire.
Through this programme, we’ve supported 10 individuals into full-time employment within the rail and civil engineering sector, helping tackle local unemployment while addressing critical skills shortages across the industry.
Delivered in partnership with North Ayrshire Council, the Department for Work and Pensions , and Training, the 10-week academy combined classroom learning with hands-on site experience. From over 70 applicants, 12 candidates were selected, with 10 successfully completing the programme and securing permanent roles.
This initiative reflects our commitment to creating sustainable career opportunities and investing in the future workforce. By equipping participants with industry-recognised qualifications, practical skills, and confidence, we’re helping build long-term career pathways within our sector.
This is just the beginning. We’re excited to continue growing the CK Skills Academy and supporting more people into meaningful employment while strengthening the communities we work in.
A huge thank you to our partners and everyone involved in making this programme such a success.

CK Skills Academy – Cohort One Update

Cohort One is nearing the end of their training programme.

The team have recently completed Track Induction and Confined Spaces Training and, as of Monday, will begin a four-week work experience placement within CK divisions.

They’re all doing amazingly well — we’re incredibly proud of their progress.😄
