Recently completed this living room glow up✨! I took the space right back to a bare shell and gave it a new lease of life.

Starting with a self-levelled subfloor, I installed a herringbone laminate flooring to create a timeless foundation. From there, I fitted full height double-beaded wainscoting panelling to give the room a grand feel.

A fully bespoke radiator cover was designed to seamlessly incorporating an alcove unit and extended windowsill for a clean, fitted look. Oak elements were introduced to contrast with the chosen colour, while rattan inserts were added to tie in with the oak and allow heat to circulate efficiently. I also included a discreet access hatch for the gas meter within the alcove.

To modernise the focal point, I built out the chimney breast to conceal the existing opening, creating a more streamlined and contemporary finish. Integrated LED lighting was added within the alcove controlled via a discreet sensor for ease of use.

Finishing touches included new skirting, architraves, doors, coving, and custom window headers bringing everything together and matching the character of the room.

Had the pleasure of working in this stunning home, adding this bespoke built-in unit. Starting with the sash bead detail already present in the skirting, we carried it through around the doors to create a true in-frame look. Shaker beaded doors were used to stay in keeping with the character of the house, paired with a bookcase featuring symmetrical shelving and arches, all finished with a beautifully detailed cornice.
