Our 10 year trial with this exciting new species (Meyer spruce) now starting to produce significant numbers of beautiful trees that will be ready for next Christmas. This species has impressive needle retention, a beautiful blue colour and the shape and smell of the traditional Norway spruce.

Occasionally some of our fir trees will produce a profusion of cones. Beautiful now, but a bit of a pain come Christmas if not removed by hand at this time of the year (or shaken by machine after they have been harvested). Fir cones disintegrate into hundreds of winged seeds, unlike pine and spruce cones that remain intact.

Why spray every Christmas tree for aphids when you can focus on the 1% that actually need it! Saves compromising the beneficial insects that are now doing a brilliant job at keeping everything in check and equilibrium.

By scouting for Wooly Aphid ‘nests’ at the base of the needles, and then flagging the infected trees in early Spring, we can focus our spraying where it will have the biggest impact.

We would have sprayed the whole field 10 years ago, now we are much more Nature Friendly.
