Sometimes we come across "handyman work" that truly leaves us speechless. This time was no exception.
The photo shows the "method" used to repair a leak we found at a client's home: a nail and a bicycle tire patch. This "construction" served as a seal for a central heating pipe for... an entire decade. It only just now started leaking, causing significant damage to the ceiling and floor.
It's a miracle it didn't lead to a major breakdown or an accident. Unfortunately, this is often the result when repairs are attempted without professional knowledge.
