What size should my bathroom be?🫧📏

If you’re self building, renovating or even just thinking about it and the plans aren’t finalised yet, this is worth thinking through early, because it shapes so much of what comes after!👀

Downstairs WC is the smallest of the bunch, just enough room for a toilet and basin. Often tucked under the stairs or off a hallway.

Main family bathroom needs the most breathing room, especially if you want a bath and a separate shower. Storage is usually the first thing to get squeezed out here.

Master ensuite can work in a tighter space than people expect. Layout matters more than the overall size.

Jack and Jill needs a bit more room than a standard ensuite, mainly because of the two access points and how the doors work with the traffic flow from one room to the other.

If structural changes are still on the table, that’s the stage to get this right, before it’s locked into the plans.✏️✏️✏️
