A huge thank you to Ciarán Fox, the The Royal Society of Ulster Architects, and Professor Joan McCoy McCoy of White Ink Architects for delivering such an important CPD session on the Building Safety Act as its implementation continues to evolve in Northern Ireland.

The session reinforced the critical importance of competence, compliance, and accountability across the construction sector—principles that are central to the successful delivery of higher-risk residential buildings.

Thanks also to James Eyre of Titanic Quarter, Stephen Miskelly of RMI Architects, and Stephen McGuigan MSc, MCIOB, PMP McGuigan of FLYNN (Maurice Flynn & Sons Ltd) for sharing practical insights from our ongoing work at ARC Apartments, one of the largest and most significant Building Safety projects currently being delivered in Northern Ireland. The project is setting new benchmarks for compliance, resident safety, quality assurance, and collaborative working, demonstrating how clients, designers, and contractors can work together to deliver safer buildings and meet emerging regulatory requirements.

We are incredibly proud of the entire project team and the professionalism, competence, and commitment they continue to demonstrate as we deliver this landmark scheme and help shape the future of building safety in Northern Ireland.

As the industry adapts to a new era of building safety, projects such as ARC Apartments provide a real-world example of how competence, compliance and collaboration are essential to delivering safer homes and better outcomes for residents.

🔥☀️ Team BBQ 2026 – Official Incident Report ☀️🔥

This afternoon's Health & Safety review identified four key risks:
• Direct sunlight
• Approximately 47 litres of ketchup
• An industrial quantity of burgers and sausages
• Deano attempting to personally feed the entire workforce

Nothing says staff appreciation quite like gathering the team in a gravel yard beside the Harland & Wolff cranes on one of the hottest days of the year and convincing ourselves it's a wellness initiative.

While most of the workforce formed an orderly queue stretching halfway across Titanic Quarter, our BBQ crew bravely stood over a grill already operating at temperatures usually associated with metal fabrication. Despite battling smoke, heat, and relentless demands for "just one more burger", they somehow kept the production line moving.

Great food, plenty of laughs, cold drinks, and a chance for colleagues from sites, offices and projects across the business to catch up away from deadlines and day-to-day pressures.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along, and especially to the BBQ team who willingly stood inches from an open flame in mid-20’s heat so the rest of us could enjoy a break.

Outcome achieved: 100% burger delivery, zero food waste, excellent stakeholder engagement, and a fire strategy that would absolutely not pass Building Control.

🎉 Two weeks ago, 15 heroes raised £15,000 by throwing themselves off a 90-foot cliff! 🎉

On 20th June, joined a group of incredible fundraisers to take on the Little Heroes Fairhead Abseil Challenge in support of the children and families who depend on Belfast’s Royal Hospital for Sick Children.

We’ll admit it — standing at the edge of a 90-foot cliff was terrifying. But it was a small challenge compared to the courage shown every day by seriously ill children and the families who stand beside them.

Together, 15 brave participants raised an amazing £15,000 to support the vital work of Little Heroes, helping to make a difference for young patients and their families when they need it most. 💙

A huge thank you to everyone who donated, supported, encouraged, and took part. Your generosity will have a lasting impact.

Because when a child needs care, every little hero deserves a community behind them.

When we asked for nominations, Niall’s name kept coming up again... and again... and again. At that point, we started to wonder if he had launched a secret nomination campaign! 😄
In all seriousness, it says a lot when your colleagues consistently recognise the positive impact you have every day. Niall is one of the foundations of – reliable, hardworking, always willing to help, and a great colleague to have on site and in the team.
This award is thoroughly deserved and reflects the respect he has earned from everyone around him.

Flat Roofer – Join
We are looking for an experienced and dependable Flat Roofer to join our growing team. Working on a variety of commercial and public sector projects, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of flat roofing systems including felt, EPDM, TPO, PVC, GRP, and built-up roofing.
Key Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair flat roofing systems.
Prepare roof surfaces and remove existing materials.
Apply membranes, insulation, and waterproofing systems.
Diagnose and repair leaks and roofing defects.
Follow drawings, specifications, and health & safety requirements.
Maintain high standards of workmanship and site safety.

Essential Requirements

Minimum 2 years' flat roofing experience (preferred).
Experience with a range of flat roofing systems and materials.
Comfortable working at height and outdoors.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Full UK Driving Licence.
Valid CSR Card.

Desirable

NVQ/City & Guilds Roofing qualification.
IPAF, PASMA, or Working at Height certification.
Experience on commercial roofing projects.

🏆 Delighted to share that hashtag has been announced as a Finalist in the Construction Employers Federation (CEF) Construction Industry Awards for not one, but two outstanding projects – the Hilden & Lambeg Sluice Gates Replacement Scheme and the Arc Apartments Remediation Project.
These high-profile projects presented very different challenges, but both demanded the same commitment to excellence, collaboration, and problem-solving that defines our team.
From complex engineering works at Hilden & Lambeg to the sensitive remediation and restoration works at Arc Apartments, countless hours of planning, coordination, and hard work have gone on behind the scenes to achieve these milestones. Recognition like this is a testament to the dedication of our people, supply chain partners, clients, and stakeholders who work together to deliver successful outcomes.

☀️ Stay sharp, stay safe — it's a scorcher out there! ☀️

On hot days like today, water isn't optional on site — it's PPE. 💧

🔧 A couple of facts to keep in mind:

1️⃣ On hot days, construction workers should aim to drink around half a pint of water every 15–20 minutes — that's up to 1.5 litres an hour in extreme heat 🥵

2️⃣ Don't wait until you're thirsty to drink — by then you're already behind. Drink little and often throughout the day, not just when you feel it 🚰

That's why has set up a hydration station at our Arc Apartments site — cold water, easy access, no excuses. 🙌

Look out for your mates, take your breaks, and drink up. A hydrated site is a safer, sharper, happier site. 💪
