Project Completion - Kingsbridge Private Hospital New Cath lab

Kennedy FitzGerald were appointed to design and coordinate the delivery of an extensive clinical upgrade and fit-out within a live hospital environment.

The project involved transforming existing clinical areas into a new Catheterisation Lab/Hybrid Theatre, alongside associated clinical support spaces, a recovery ward, and ancillary accommodation. Complex upgrades in structure, building fabric and services were required to support specialist equipment and to meet the needs of a high-spec clinical theatre, a roof extension was inserted to accommodate.

An intricate demolition & construction phasing sequence was implemented to maintain the safety of patients in the neighbouring live, acute environment and significant remedial works to the existing building fabric was carried out to improve fire safety. All works were delivered within an accelerated programme.

Appointment News!

The KFA healthcare team are looking forward to getting started on Design Stage 1 of the new Mother and Baby Unit at Belfast City Hospital.

We were very pleased to meet Health Minister Mike Nesbitt on site last week to discuss the new project alongside our project partners Arcadis and AECOM.

The dedicated acute mental health unit will support new mothers and their newborns together, when they need it most.

We are proud to be designing this much needed regional facility for Northern Ireland and look forward to sharing our initial design work with the Belfast Trust over the summer.

🔥 Friday’s “Big KFA Day Out” was one to remember!

Our team spent the morning at the Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service Learning & Development Centre, getting up and close to some demonstrations including a gas prop car fire 🚒🔥, flood water rescue scenarios 🌊, and a behind-the-scenes tour of the teaching and simulated fire training facilities.

After refuelling with a “Big Feed” at the Silverbirch Hotel 🍽️, we hopped over the road to Strule Shared Education Campus to take in the scale of the largest education project in Northern Ireland.

A fantastic day of learning, teamwork, and great company all round! 👏

This month marks the end of our 2-year charity partnership with Cancer Fund for Children. We have raced to the finish line at the marathon, got “boggin” at the Bog run, twice! and baked our way to a grand total of £7000.00! Thank you to all our staff who took part and to everyone who has cheered us on and donated over the past two years.

Please continue to support the Cancer Fund For Children to allow them to continue to provide vital support and connection for young people and families impacted by cancer. 💛
