Pine sanded then stained. This is a light oak morrells stain. This is applied by paintbrush and wiped with a cloth. We need to sand the floor a different way too to eliminate scratches.
The stain is the professionals choice to keep the character of the wood, unlike coloured varnished that effectively paint the boards.
