🚆 From concept to reality – and the response has genuinely exceeded our expectations.
Over the last two days at Rail Live, we had the opportunity to showcase our patent-pending modular lift solution and discuss how modern methods of construction can help transform the delivery of accessibility projects across the UK rail network.
The level of interest, engagement and positive feedback received from stakeholders was fantastic. It was encouraging to speak with Network Rail representatives, principal contractors, consultants and industry professionals who all recognised the potential benefits that this approach can bring to future accessibility projects.
What makes this particularly exciting is that the solution has now successfully passed the design approval process, and the lift components for the first four installations are currently being manufactured in preparation for assembly within the factory environment ahead of deployment to site.
Working alongside our commercial partners, Miller Fabrications Ltd and International Lift Equipment Ltd, we have developed a solution that challenges the traditional approach to lift installation within the rail environment.
The lift shaft structure is manufactured, assembled and fully clad off-site within a controlled factory environment, with the lift equipment integrated prior to delivery. This enables quality, safety and consistency to be managed throughout the manufacturing process while significantly reducing the amount of work required on site.
Importantly, whilst the installation methodology represents a major advancement in project delivery, the lift equipment itself is based on proven, maintainable technology designed to meet the demanding operational, reliability and whole-life asset requirements expected across the UK rail network.
Once the required possession is secured, the completed lift structure can be craned directly into position. The remaining activities are then focused on final integration, testing, commissioning and handover, with the lift expected to be ready for passenger service within approximately two weeks.

Taking a concept from a sketch on paper to a fully approved solution now entering manufacture has required a huge amount of commitment, expertise and determination from everyone involved. We are incredibly proud of what has been achieved so far and excited about the next stage of the journey.
Rail Live has confirmed what we believed from the outset – there is a real appetite within the rail industry for innovative solutions that reduce programme durations, improve safety and deliver accessibility improvements faster than ever before.
With the first four installations now entering manufacture, we look forward to demonstrating how this innovative approach can help deliver accessibility projects faster, safer and with significantly less disruption to passengers and rail operations.
