This week, Karl and Ben has been working in Nottingam on this property, using Monachouche to create this beautiful finish in chalk.
A base coat is applied with mesh inserted into it to create strength and to prevent cracking. Then the top coat is applied, then scrapped flat with an I bar to create a perfect finish.
I think it looks stunning and gives any properties a moden, fresh feel.

We don't normally have the privilege of seeing Karl's work after it's been decorated, but here you can see the high quality of his work.
A true craftsmans work at its best.
You can see a bull nose corner and beautiful archways. High ceilings are completed on stilts, and Karl is well know for keeping all his work areas clean and tidy.
This property was built in the 16th century and is simply stunning now its been plastered to a high standard.

This is a storage area, above a garage. All the customer wanted was for it to be insulated. And this is the end product.

Do you have a loft space that is stood doing nothing? Maybe you've thought about converting it into another bedroom.
This is a project we've recently completed that shows the end product of a loft after boarding and skimming.
50mm insulation was inserted in between the roof trusses to give extra insulation and then 25mm kind span installed boards over the top we're installed before skimming to a smooth finish.

Here we have an old property with stone features. All the original plaster was loose, so we removed the original plaster back to the stone work that you can see in the pictures, and then boarded the areas with 12.5 mm standard plaster baords, using the dot and dab method. And then skimmed the areas to a smooth finish.

Do you have a cellar and don't know what to do with it?
Here, we have used a tanking membrane to tank out a cellar. Karl also used thermal boards on all of the walls before tanking. The customer requested 27mil thermals to be installed on all the walls to insulate the room too.
The room was then skimmed to a beautiful smooth finish.
This made the cellar, an unusable room, to a home office for our customer.
He also has an extraction unit unstalled to modify the air flow.

DID YOU KNOW THAT WE ALSO DO DAMP PROOFING?
This was a small area on a stair well that had a damp patch.
Karl hacked the area back to the original brick and then use a damp proofing cream, Norton 2000, to install a Damp proof course. Once this had time to expand and cure over night, Karl returned to bond out and skim to a smooth finish, as always.

So, today we completed a three day job that resulted in the bedroom above a garage going from being the coldest room of the house to the warmest.
This was achieve by thermal boarding the garage ceiling with 27mil thermal plaster boards and then installed 50mil external insulation thermal boards to the roof dormer. Render was then applied before a mesh was inserted into the render to give it strength. Plastic beads were used to all edges and angles and then the top coat was applied to match the existing render already present on this property.
