New Historic Landscape Design Project
In the English Countryside

Introducing this tiny village nowdays but
This beautiful Tudor Architectue Manor House belonged to the wealthy Spencer family.

Two prominent members of the family during the 20th century were Sir Winston Churchill and Diana, Princess of Wales.

Part of what makes landscapes unique is the “genius loci”, a Latin phrase we use in landscape design meaning “spirit of place.”

Every Garden is unique and my main goal is to recognise, explore and exploit this genius loci, this sense of place through my landscape design project of this private garden area in this Historic English Countryside in Warwickshire.

Look what I found while tidying up my studio. A picture taken on 7th July 2015. I remember this day very well as so many others. This trip has saved my life choosing to gone to the English countryside and visit Beth Chatto’s garden rather to go to the city, Kings Cross station by tube on that day.

There are several designers that I admire, but Beth Chatto is probably my biggest influence as she’s the one who got me into plant art and planting design.
She was a British plantswomen, garden designer and author for several books on gardening for specific conditions.

I remember just sitting right next to her to watch her draw and busy gardening around her massive garden.

I feel fortunate to have met her.
